rules said that top 10 best rated ideas by NS users will be looked at for a chance for 1 of 3 winnings chosen by NS staff...

now my rant is this.

for some of those out there, including me, really want this gopro camera and actually have a good idea for this camera placement/use. but heres the problem, since NS is mostly made up of younglins and immaturity, they are going to highly rate the stupid ideas, such as the shower, hidden sex camera, hunting eheath, and crush cam ideas (which are in the top 10 right now). since the stupid ideas will be in top 10, that doesnt make room for the legit ideas to be in the top 10 and looked at by staff. for those who actually have a legit idea and will actually use the camera for good purposes, are wasting their time because their legit ideas wont even get to be seen by staff...

i like the contest, great idea, but letting NS decide top 10 by rating is a mistake. the legit ideas wont be put to good use if they dont win/make it to top 10/get looked at by staff.
 
what kind of idiots out there wouldn't want to see eheath getting shot modern warfare style or see ware crushin everything in sight?

maybe you gotta come up with better ideas!
 
How are the ones LJ and Ware entered stupid? They're creative and funny ideas, other than the 10 other entries of kids sitting there with a fake gopro on their head with their goggles on. I think some kids are taking this contest way in a way too serious way, i think they want creative and funny ideas.
 
dude, the contest isn't about the best placement, but the most creative, the spycams are pretty funny, so is the HUGHE cam as well :)
and for as far as i could see there wasn't a single realy NEW AND CREATIVE camera placement...
polemounted or on a stick attached to your helmet or backpack or on your skis/boots has all been done already....

 
Your complaint is exactly why we are picking the final winners, had we left it up to just voting then yeah some of the ones getting votes for stupidity would be winning, but we have the power to overlook those.

Also remember we are picking 3 winners a week for 7 weeks, and every week is a fresh round for you to re-enter, so if you don't win the first round then maybe the voting will put you in the top 10 next time.

We also can delete entries and check for cheater votes when we need to.

the crush cam is absolutely incredible, i've always wanted a helmet cam so i could find out what the fuck happened the night before. sometimes it takes us hours to figure out the course of the night, and that would solve all the problems. plus the video would be fucking hilarious.
 
what is up with everything being rated under 5? are people just going around voting everyone else as low as they think they can get away with? If you enter you just shouldn't be allowed to vote at all for any of them I think it would make everything a lot more simple.
 
and at least we know we'll see dope footy from LJ so i dont give a fuck if people think his entry is stupid. if he or any other dope skier won we'd be seeing quality footage come out of it for sure.
 
We want to see everyone voting for these, and vote honestly. Way too many people just vote down others for no reason.

Remember the first round of voting is NEXT friday, you guys got on this way quicker then we expected
 
Exactly. When people give one person a 10 (whether it be their own entry or a

friend's) and everyone else a 1, we see it, and we automatically delete

all of those ratings. So if you do that, you're really only cheating yourself.

 
so what exactly would qualify a fair rating. whats the difference between that and if i give some one i dont even know a ten and everyone else a one. im just curious. i want to make sure my votes count.
 
Well if we see someone give a 10 to only one photo/video and 1 to all of the others, it's pretty safe for us to assume that person is cheating. Otherwise why would you hate on every other single entry except for one?

 
yes those stupid ideas are funny, but they are taking up space in the top 10 and taking away the chance for other, more reasonable ideas to to be looked at by staff...
 
wait, so what do u mean by the first round of voting is next friday.when does this weeks contest end?
 
I've figured out that drawings and sketches do not count the hard way. If your entry is removed, is it okay to post something else?
 
creativity is often funny

everyone has had the idea of mounting a camera in a normal location, but not everyone thinks to let's say put it on a bottle or on a gun...it's simply creative, funny, and original...since when are those NOT the criteria for a contest??
 
I still dont think you get it, at all. They didn't want a bunch of kids to post pictures of them with a fake gopro in a place you acutally use it like on your helmet, they wanted funny creative shit.
 
since this is a skiing website, and there is an example pic of a skiier, you think it might want to do with skiing, not of what you do in the shower or what you do on youre bed...
 
Honestly yours was one of 2 or 3 that was even semi-creative.

And to be even more blunt, Go Pro probably has an interest in giving cameras to people who have proven they will put something out there that people will like and see. What kind of message does it send if someone's entry is 100% half ass and boring?
 
Dude it is supposed to be creative. Obviously you are going to use it while you are skiing. Sick, you said that now you deserve one? That's why I said I would protect my fort with it. I think all those "stupid" ideas are funny. I don't care if I don't win, I was planning on buying one anyway so its not like its a new investment I would have to start saving up for if I don't win. Do you really think "I'm gonna put my Go-Pro Camera on my ski boot" deserves to win?

their entries are creative and clownschool edits with different points of view from a go pro, head, boot, pole, etc... would be sick

to the thread poster....in the rules it says that they are rated on creativity and how funny they are....i don't think i saw anything about practicality.
 
this is lame. everyone is down rating almost every picture on the page. no entry is rated over 5.

rate for entries and dont down rate everyone else's just so you have a shot at winning.
 
seriously, this is just depressing seeing how low and bitchy these kids are, it's disgusting and a disgrace to the ns community and is simply reinforcement for the stereotype that ns is full of a bunch of dumb immature kids
 
stop your bitching. i was #2 the day before it ended and my picture got taken out for "sexual innuendos" and you dont seee me starting a thread bitching
