GoPro Back mount

If you have seen the latest Abe Kislevitz edit called "The Weekend", some of the shots are from some sort of mount that is mounted on his back. This provides some sort of "bird eye view" as it is some 3 feet taller than the actual skier. I also think that Ian Provo did a similar POV-edit with the same type of mount some time ago!

Does anyone know about such mount or where to aquire it?

Thanks

It's pretty hard to do it right and get it stable. Mounting a pole to a board then strapping the board really securely inside your bag is how I've seen it done.

I see

When looking closer at that edit, it almost looks as if he has a belt strapped around his waist that stabilizes the pole.

I guess I have to go try out some different options!

Thanks fellow NS'ers

maybe a handle bar mount on a thick and rigid pole secured either to a pack of a belt of some sort. There's no real system just experiment and see what works best.

if you have an avi shovel and a backcountry type pack with a pocket made to hold the shovel. Have the handle attached and extended above your head and attach to the shovel handle. Lots of snowmobilers do this.

^This.

And then take 2-4 ski straps (orange voile ones are my favorite) and use these to brace the pole to yourself or your pack. GoPro's do really well if they have a fixed point to reference off of, so if you make sure there is some of the pole in frame, will make the shot way more stable and look as if camera is still and only you are moving.

I saw this on the homepage but didn't watch it. I'm probably just blind and retarded but now i cant find it. can somebody embed it or link it for me. thanks
