Google Glass - What do you think about it?

Hey NS,I haven't seen a thread about these yet, but I was wondering what you all think about the Google Glasses. Personally I am headed down to New York soon to pick my explorer edition up soon so I am completely on board with these, but a lot of people I have talked to aren't fully convinced. What do you think about it?

I am one of those people that gets the newest piece of tech right once its released though. Thoughts?
 
I dunno man. Glasses are made of glass. Prisms are made of glass too dude. It's just another way the government is going to spy on your brain man.
 
Too be honest, I dont like having that much technology at one time. What ever happened to being free and in nature... lets start a woodstock for skiing.
 
It looks like people will spend a ton of money to look like goons just so they can use hands free google.
 
Ability to instantly photograph anything would do wonders for the Internet/news, but other than that it's kinda meh IMO

Project loon however, that's cool. Especially post disaster
 
I read an article on this a few months ago. It's a very interesting concept. But they do look very goofy. And other people may feel insecure about others wearing them around them. The article mentioned the awkward moment of going to a public restroom and responding to people "I am not filming u". Just awkward as fahk. But it's next gen shit, so it'll change society just like all the other technological advancements have.
 
it would be a ton of fun to mess around with, but would i ever spend a few hundred and buy it? probably not
 
Great potential. However, they still have bugs (obviously). They're also be too distracting when you are doing daily tasks.

Haha! I'm do confused how these dropped in February yet this thread is the first I'm hearing of them, and I follow technology! Fail.
 
I think everyone in this thread is just hating because they don't have them yet.. I can't afford them either but I'm sure they would be awesome to mess around with
 
I think someone like Oakley or Ray Ban should do a calibration with Google so that the glasses don't look like shit.
 
We have past a point of no return.

It is now part of our fundamental needs.

People have become overly dependent on technology.

 
I hear that they are making prescription inputs for them. Plus you can get shields, and shade inputs too. I think it'll be nice you can take phone calls, texts, send emails, do google searches, videos, photos, directions, translations, and a handfull of other things! Also, in beta they have Facebook and Twitter for them! I think it will be great! Can't wait. Also, I have to say a lot of people do have mixed emotions on the look of them, personally... I will get to look like Cookie from Ned's Declassified! :D

I got to play with a pair tonight. They're actually really cool. Google definitely has some more work to do to get them to be worthwhile to buy but nonetheless I was impressed with the beta version.
 
I can't wait for other people to buy them. I'm going to run up to them and say "google glasses, image search, horse penis, open each image in new tab, go" and laugh my ass off.

On a side note I feel like they would be great for shooting pov anything
