So the other day, i took a little quiz on the Google Chrome Facebook page. They told me once i completed it, they would send me a free Google chrome sticker, all they needed was my address.

So today i get a package and i have no idea what it is. its from somewhere in kentucky hahah. i open it up, thinking it might be a bomb or something.

on top was the Google chrome sticker i was promised. But there was also a laptop! Its called the CR-48.

Pretty stoked about now, did anyone else receieve a laptop from google??

Here's a link to Chrome test drive:

still setting it up.

Get it working yet? And if so, how is it? It wasn't a sketchy site so I doubt I'll have too much trouble since I gave out my info.

haven done too much with it yet, still looking through the getting started tutorial. it starts u real fast, something like 1.12 seconds according to google.

and the touchpad is prett sweet, the entire thing is like one big clickable button.

No caps lock key hahah, replaced with a quick search key.

NOW IT MAKES YELLING ON THE INTERNET HARDER!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just applied. not sure how it works in canada though cuz i still had to pick what state i live in, and no provinces were on the list so i dont know whats up with that

For the people that filled out an application ... When you pressed submit did you get a confirmation email or a new screen saying something like "Thank you for submitting" ??? I didn't get anything and I'm wondering if it actually submitted...

You dont have to worry about losing all of your data due to technical failures. Simply log onto any other google notebook, and you'll be right back where you left off.

Now thats sick.

yeah, all your document, downloads and settings will always be right there.

Barring catastrophic events at Google im assuming haha

There are the back/forward/reload buttons that you would find on your browser placed conveniently on your keyboard too.

Yeah, im 20 years old, and a part time student.

I never had to provide any information like that to Google however.

I just took the quiz and gave them my adress so they could send me my sticker hahaha.

Also, this is my first post on NS with my new computer. YEAH!

Kinda slow at first, but seems to be speeding up.

Word! I'm in the same boat as you except I'm a full time student ... hopefully I get a free laptop! Did they tell you how much/often you needed to provide feedback?

When you applied did you get a new screen saying something like "Thank you for submitting" or did you get any sort of confirmation (via email maybe?)? I didn't get any sort of confirmation.

No, they didnt set any guidelines like that. right now, its super slow, so im gonna report as many glitches, and bugs as possible.

it automatically updates itself, so the performance should get better and better.

i never submitted the form i linked to.

i took a little quiz on chromes facebook page on like sunday or monday. just had to provide an adress for the sticker, but they send me a computer too hahah

so far, browsing is super slow, but i downloaded a storage app, and it downloaded almost instantly

SICK!

just applied! hope i get one!!

btw to above posts, I first clicked the submit button, recieved no conformation, clicked on the education button again, resubmitted all my info, and got a message saying something along the lines of "thank you for applying to the program... we will let you know if we can send you a notebook as soon as possible"

+K! dope find!

I did the that same exact thing and it worked for me submitting in the employee section. I'm pretty sure that if you post more than 140 characters in the "tell about yourself section" it won't even submit.

i dont believe so, it didnt say anything about that in the user agreement.

it said you couldnt sell or transfer it without permission however

word, did it, pretty much just gave google free info but they already had it so its not big

Submitted, lied my ass off. Checked everything that had to do with Google or Chrome to seem like a better person.

so sick, hopefully I get picked. Do you get to keep it after the testing period is done?

I would think you would want to do the opposite. They want new Chrome users, not existing ones. Increase market share yadig?

Initially, there are some holes, like not being able to use USB devices or installed programs such as skype.

but im sure it will all be taken care of before it hits the shelves!
