Fuck...he already was a legend....Shane lived out his passions, changed our perceptions of what a ski is and had some of the most infectious enthusiasm for life. He will be missed by so many people. Condolences to his family. Damn.

Damn, This is Heartbreaking.. He was too young, i heard someone say this is like superman dying , that's what it feel like, I used to see him around and i never had the nuts to say anything to him. I wish i had, but his presence was superhuman , You are missed, RIP

I can see why so many people are in total disbelief. This is just shocking. And so soon after a car accident took Travis Steeger, too... These freak accidents are really tough to swallow.
 
This truley sucks, i was just watching claim on tuesday and was hoping he would be in another movie, he was funny and had a lot of charisma RIP Shane aka saucerboy
 
this is horrible, horrible news. I'm truly saddened to hear about this. Our industry has lost a lot of great people in the last year and this is no better.

FUCK his shit was off the hook, he was so good at what he did. the guy was nuts. im gonna miss his segments for years to come. it looks douglas won the bet after all.
 
I am too young to fully appreciate what Trevor Peterson and Doug Coombes did for the sport, but what Shane did for the world of skiing it right up there with them. He was one of the all-time greats. I'm seriously tearing up here, I looked up to him so much as a kid. What a terrible day.
 
truly the worst news of the year. So unbelievably shitty. Will definitely be holding some sort of remembrance thing in McConkey's trees this weekend. RIP
 
I cant believe this... Shane is an eternal freeskier, but I didnt think it this would happen yet. rest in peace.

Being around Shane could have made anyone feel small. Just a wonderful and inspiring person.

Man that actually took my breath away when I realized it was real, that is horrible hes gone now. He was definitely one of my biggest idols in skiing and made me get pumped into getting into freeskiing in the first place. RIP

Since I was 12 years old and watched 'theres something about McConkey' I have idolised him. He was THE greatest big mountain skier ever, such and influence on the industry.
