damn it i have like $25 bucks on a gift card still. And is it not closing forever? Im sad that i went there so few times in the past years, it was really the only good place to ski around here. If anyone is going before it closes and wants the gift card hit me up
 
I have two free lift tickets to Tam and they expire May 2009. I don't think I will be able to use them before they close. no bueno
 
they were saying that only someone with deep pockets could get tami outta this.
but how much money are they out?
 
since october they have lost over 2.8 million dollars

I think that they owe over 250 million dollars in constuction loans.

they have only recieved 27,000 skier visits which is super low (schweitzer has seen over 81, 000 this year)

It is really sad
 
Your an idiot. How often to resorts just disapear of coarse its going to become open once again in the future. prob next year.
 
I dont want to sound like a bitch, but there have been several ski resorts that have shut down due to the economy and yes some have reopend several years later. A couple I can think about off the top of my head are Stagecoach and Conquistador. We'll just have to wait and see.
 
yeah its been on the news. its highly unlikly tho. and the judge is leaning against it. and the reciever is fighting really hard to keep it closed due to funds. dont get your hopes up id say its prettty unlikly

what are you guys complaining about? bogus has a way better park and their jumps kick tamarack's ass. the bogus jumps are so perfect with steep landings and their big booter is so big!

yeah. Karcher and Brooklyn, relax on my homie. the reason its gonna take a while to reopen Tam is because a ski resort has a tendency to be a business failure for the first 3 to 4 owners. most dont turn profit till the 7th or 8th year running. possibly 10 years. no one is looking to invest in such a high risk business, people dont have that kind of money to throw around anymore. dont be surprised if the judge cancels the motion of the court and Tam lays dormant for the next few years. it can happen. unless a private company funded in part by the new stimulus package and/or one that is vying for tax breaks on "infrastructure or building development projects" decides to put builders on the site and build Agassi's fucking hotel then i doubt it will just open next year.

i dont know what the whole situation is, so forgive me if i have a hole in my case, but you must realize that a new, undeveloped ski resort in Idaho, doesnt look attractive to potential investors at this very moment.
 
im so stoned, i didnt understand one bit of that, haha. except the fact that Tamarack most likely wont be re-opening for while

I honestly dont think a buyer is going to invest in Tamarack.

At least Schweitzer and other resorts might benefit from the auctions of all of Tamaracks shit (not the Yurts unfortunately)
 
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... i doubt that^ but there probably wont be much going around up in that area for awhile.

i wanna go find away into the cabins and PARTY haha

yo has anyone thought of the powder capabilities of Tam next season? i mean just sneak a few sleds in one night and you have the ENTIRE mountain covered COMPLETELY with untracked pow. i say we go skiing mateys.

this is true and yet untrue. true, i skied park 2 days this year. but i skied a total of 5 days. also, when all you kids were down skiing the Tom E. jam i was doing xtreem tree skiing. SUCK MY TITS HENRY! the stats dont lie. 3/5 powderhog, 2/5 park xtreem rydah.
 
then how come last year, one of the best snow years we've had in awhile.. why didnt you ever ski powder then, huh? you, Petey, some other lil rascals runnin around always said "theres no powder, plus man.. the box is prime right now.." hahaha
