Goodbye NS

Haven't posted in here yet. Just really wanted to say that despite never being a customer of your store, I thank you greatly for raising the bar of other shops and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

im sorry head doesnt make tall tees, but i think itd be sick to still have a store instead of none, even though this would never happen

i don't know what to say, I blow through skis like its my job and you were the only one willing to deal with my warranty bullshit. You showed me how to mount skis. god man that just kind of ruined my day... i don't wanna have to buy skis from boulder ski deals, fuck that. either way man, i wish you the best, you and your team have inspired me in a way i can't really explain. Know that you have definitely impacted the lives of many skiers around here, even in a small way. Thanks for everything man, PEACE.

Ya. Man I never bought anything from your store but I could tell you were down for the cause of skiing and I wish you luck in your new direction.

Thanks for the good run mate, at least you were here while you were, and best of luck in whatever else you do!

"I'm off to try something new, but I will still be skiing no matter

where I go. I encourage everyone to follow their dreams, and remember

to ski because it's fun."

This is the truth. Im sure you will find success in whatever you do. Goodluck!

Josh, you always offered me a better deal than I could get anywhere else when shopping for skis, and it always made me turn to Jibij first. Your shop and your presence in the industry will be sorely missed, not to mention all the great content and good times that Jibij has brought to NS!

wow. i just read this and its like a huge anvil dropping on my day.

jibij was my favorite ski shop, even though im in vermont, i always went there when i visited friends outside of boulder, not to mention the couple online orders i had. jibij was always the first place i would look for something i was going to get. they had the best prices and best store.

Oh well. Good luck josh in your quests.

I still have a few jibij stickers... thats it, theyre going on the car today in memory...

Wow. Did not see this coming. Very sad to see this happen but I understand that you have to move on. Jibij was always my favorite ski shop and I dreamed of having someone like Josh on the east coast. I have bought many items from Jibij and always received the best service. Good luck with your future endeavors and I hope that you will keep in touch with the ski community.

James

Tingas and A@ron,

Don't give snowblades dude hell for stating the facts like he's a party pooper or too serious (also that lolcat is playyyyed) because it's true, taking a company public takes lawyers, red tape, venture capital, and a business plan that would mos def dwarf anything like a indie ski shop - basically it's just not possible. Sure Bryant said to follow your dreams but I'm sure he meant dreams that are attainable, otherwise I'd be dreaming of being a liquid metal terminator who could fly into supermodels' bedrooms and it'd be happening.

All the best wishes are great but it's important also to not get everyone hyped on something that ultimately will not pan out but will rather add insult to injury. Give Bryant the due props for all the ill shit he's done and respect his decision to move on.

I'm a small business owner as well (not ski-related) and it's tough times right now, just barely staying afloat. Economy sucks but the main problem is volume-based retailers muscling independent businesses into bankruptcy just through sheer scale of buying power. Lots of kids vow to keep it real and support but when it comes down to it, especially during a recession, kids are going to go for the cheapest package available, and it's the high-volume retailers that can afford to offer it. It's like being in an indie rock band right now - you have a fanbase that's all about having your back on the internet but 90% end up torrenting your album because they think a $8 cover charge at some show that may or may not happen in the future will make up for it, and in the interim you have to sell the van and give up on everything you worked for. Sucks. Best of luck, JB.

that is really sad. i used to love going to jibij in the fall to pick up all the latest ski flicks...and then watch the ones i didnt have money for on the couch.

even if i left me shop, i dont think i could leave ns. this place is like a dysfunctional family, theres always a little good advice, a lot of yelling and flaming, so weirdness, and some good laughs.

If Josh had his way, he's riding bareback, with a lady or on a lady, on a wild stallion in the desert. Drunk.

One time I went to Breckenridge from Wisconsin to ski Keystone and Breck with my friend...our last day in Colorado we drove to Boulder, and ended up walking like 20 blocks to find the Jibij store. I was like 13, and so stoked on Jibij.

Josh Bryant was at the counter, and we told him we were from Wisconsin and he said "damn you came from Wisconsin to see my store? Hold on"

He came out with tons of free stickers, free movies, and two free Jibij shirts. We were just some excited 13 year old kids, and he hooked us up with a ton of swag. I still have that shirt, and I'll never forget how legit Josh Bryant was/is.

good bump.
