Yo,

Did you guys know that Brighton is replacing the Millie lift with a high speed quad for next year? Sick that you can rip laps all quick like....... but shitty that those laps will be tracked in half the time that they are now. What are your thoughts?

Check the news article.

no one ski brighton anyways might as well spread out traffic even more. plusss now you can traverse to all those sick cliff bands faster then the snowbros can.

Yea i didn't understand the logic of putting a high speed quad in there...... i have NEVER seen anything that even resembles a line at millicent, its too bad really, because the quad will attract more people to that area of the mountain and millie will now get tracked out much faster as a result of the increased skier load up the mountain.

I haven't skied brighton a whole lot, but the millie area was by far my favorite 'in-bounds' (yes i know the cliff bands are technically out of bounds) area at brighton, hopefully it won't change the area that much.

I think its a good thing. There aren't lines often, but there ware a few days this year where there was like a 10-15 min wait. So no more waiting and a quicker trip up, and i doubt it will attract that many more people to that part of the mountain. Unless... the rumors are true and they put a park on millie, which would kick ass. Landings, not take offs facing the sun, with nice rolling terrain which might allow them to make legit jumps. Who knows how that'll pan out though, but i'm gonna stay optimistic. I will miss the quaint little millie chair we all love, but fuck it. Out with the old in with the new. For a while i was bummed they were getting rid of the old tram in jackson, but the new ones gonna be way bigger and nicer and i feel the same way about millie. Look to the future!

if they put the expert park on all the rolly polly grooomers skiers right of evergreen and above millie would be the only chair to ride sick terrain sick park better groomers then the other side.

The longest wait I've ever seen on Millie is about 2 minutes. And if they put a park on that other side it would be so sick. I think the high speed quad will for sure take more people over there, especially if Brighton advertises it a lot and people know it's there. I bet they stay in Millie bowl or on the groomers, and all the stuff right outta the gate will be good, but still.

yeah i def. think there will be a slight traffick increase, but it seems like your average brighton patrons(tourists) don't really wanna ski that terrain just because its difficult. And if an expert park takes up the groomer then they will be less likely to want to hit that up. I guess time will tell and we'll find out next year what will actually happen.

its like when alta took put in collins quad. ppl thought it was gonna fuck shit up but its so much better in the end.

that sucks cuz its gonna get tracked out quicker and when i was out there i never had to wait more than a few minutes.

areant they supposed to build a "natural" terrain park over there next season
