Good UV and ND filters?

This is most likely a repost, but I Searched and found nothing...Whats a good UV and a good ND filter for a Tamron 17-50? I did some looking around but am pretty lost. Looking to stay under $50

I just use tiffen. They are cheap and get the job done. I also like hoya, B+W, etc. You pay a little more for them though

honestly, when i take pics i have the $10 best buy store brand uv filters..... to be they do the exact same thing as the more expensive ones.

Use a clear filter if you're looking for just protection

threads.i'm looking to buy a good variable nd filter (or possibly just a single one, not really sure if its worth the extra price.

HA! $200/filter is bargain shopping for most filters if you want quality glass, and there's usually a few filters in a set....

Also the tiffen is not that great, if you want a variND, LCW mkII's are decent

also also, just get a 1.2 or 1.5

Just so you know, you don't need both, only one or the other, unless you're going to shoot a lot of low light stuff. Under $50 is gonna buy you shit filters though.
