I'm not sure if there's any decent glades in NY state, but my friends and I were looking for a place to go cruise for a couple days..any suggestions?

gores glades are really good. cliffs are mediocre but were supposed to get some snow tues/wed. the glades are awesome on pow days, and theres some good natural trails too

Gore for glades definately any of the glades at the top of gore serviced by the straight brook quad a fun on a good day. theres a gnarly liftline section under the triple that's got some cliffs, cirque glades are nice for cruising in the trees.

Otherwise if the stars and planets align, the slides at whiteface.

slides at whiteface will never be open untli the spring. gore is the best bet but i dont see why you just dont go to vermont

assuming your from southern new york gore and whiteface are good but most places in vermont are much better and equal drive (once again assuming your from around southern new york)

killington is about the same drive as gore and much much better and the farther up you drive in vt the better... stowe, mad river glen, sugarbush, jay peak etc.

their glades are okay, but everything else about the mountain sucks, their park is terrible

I like west, willard, windham lol Ws

Gore and Whiteface are both a lot of fun. Good vertical drop for some long runs. Both usually have a good amount of snow (since both are in the dacks). Both have good terrain (bumps, trees, cliffs, trails are built on natural fall lines). Both are easy to get to (I87). Gore is a little closer and a little cheaper than whiteface, but whiteface gets more snow and has more terrain.

i can't believe you said you like west

west is the biggest shithole in upstate ny, don't come here u'll hate it...believe me

also it shows how much you know if you say gores glades are "ok"

gores glades are sick especially the ones people hardly know about, but their well known glades have sick trees, challenging, have some nice drops and good snow

yup gores dope for terrain and glades.. not so much park
but seriously go under the topridge triple and i guarantee you'll be scared to drop some of those cliffs.
darkside glades are absolutely dope, and low steilhang is sick too.
all the glades are fun as shit but if NY getsa storm hit up gore for sure

Those are all good. The best ones you have to really search for. Old gondi line from foxlair. Just sayin...

gores glades are good I will admit that, but the rest of the mountain isnt, if your looking to skis glades the entire day gore will be a sweet mountain, but Im not so thats why I dont like it

Has anyone checked out the new "barkeater" glades? They have only been open a few weeks and I think they are new for this year. I cant wait to get up there but I'm broke as fuck, good thing they have $38 tickets Wednesdays.

haha two years ago me, ted, scotty and mike clear cut the old gondi line. I wonder if that had to do witgh it sliding last year

i hit them to get to the ski bowl. definitely the easiest way to get to the ski bowl, you barely have to traverse. The glades themselves are kinda flat at times but the width of the entire glade is pretty narrow. so even when i hit them and there was lots of snow on the ground it was skied off. if they widen it up a bit it would be a pretty fun glade with some steeps and some flats and kinda long too
