Good things to eat while/pre/apres skiing

Hey I thought I would post this thread, because I love eating. I know after a good day of shredding, anything that looks digestable is fair game, but for brekky I like to have pancakes or oatmeal, or if it's bluebird , anything I can shove down my throat while hauling ass to the nearest ski hill. At lunch I find efficiency is key, so sandwiches tend to be petty good because you can fit lots of nutrients in them and they take a minimum of time to eat. I always like to have veggies as well, and any kind of pasta is always good.

Fruit, Oatmeal and Bacon in the morning, breakfast bull on the way to the hill, bagels for lunch since they are indestructible in a pack (usually meat+cheese or PB+Nutella) and fruit. Gatorade and trailmix while riding. Pasta or other big communal meal for dinner.

Pizza and wings after skiing. So good, and it warms you right up. Or macaroni and cheese kills it too if eating at home.

Soup from a thermos and a sandwhich is pretty killer for lunch.

Breakfast, I always just have cereal.

i never eat in the morning but sometimes i need an energy bar or something along those lines. during a day of skiing maybe some beef jerky, fruit etc. afterwards though id go for a giant helping of poutine and some beer

you guys eat too well... Ramen, Ramen and more Ramen

maybe a some crackers and honey or condiments if they are free

in every ramen cup there is roughly 1100mg of sodium. Thats like eating a tablespoon of salt straight up.

pizza glen baby.

but yea, Pizza and wings, or even pizza. It's not so much what I eat while skiing, but what I drink. Red Bulls when I'm tired or if I'm already decent a Sobe Power is the best mid/late-day pickup.

pfft! you can't try slipping this goody-goody shit past me... the only fuel we need can be found at your local safety meeting.

I like fruitloops, or maple brown sugar oatmeal in the morning

usually a fresh sandwich is avaible and a nice fruit drink

and wings or nachos is best after.

It's all about the premade PB&Js and beef jerky for skiing. So key. Throw some green or chamomile tea in a thermos in your pack. Granola bars, cashews. Ahhh yeah! A bagel BLT from Gnartock was the only way to go for a lunch during skiing. So cheap and so delicious.

Also, fuck Blue Mountain and their $8.50 pints of beer. Gnartock also had $3 bottles of Moosehead. The only good part of that hill was the cheap beer and food. I hate intrawest and big resorts for their absurdly expensive food and drink prices. $10 for a piece of pizza and iced tea is crazy!

Does anyone remember the ghetto tomato soup thread? Tomato catchup + hot water + crackers + pepper. Free using complimentary condiments.

During - trail mix, beef jerkey, and gum after the beef jerkey so you dont get that gross aftertaste

Pre - pancakes/eggs/bacon

Apres - Cookies and pasta

I like to eat some pancakes in the morning if I can, IGA compliments value pancakes, cos I'm a broke ass ski bum. Munch on some cliff bars throughout the day to keep my energy up and cope with the sugar addiction. And then some KD for dinner or if i'm feeling flash, sidekick...

chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, WEGMAN'S SUB for lunch, Pizza and Wings for dinner Yay!

Seriously though, if you haven't had a wegman's sub, your missing out on life. Its worth it to google map a wegman's near you if you don't have one and drive to it. or fly or whatever. Worth it. Me and my friends split one on the MTN, so much cheaper than Labrador MTN's food anyway, and so much healthier and tastier.

fruit, toast wit jelly, OJ, sometimes eggs - breakfast

soup, sandwhiches, anything easy to make and easy to keep fresh and/or intact lol - lunch

sushi, pizza, pasta, mac n cheese - dinner

right before bed i usually drink like 2 glasses of water and a vitamin pack...really helps your body recooperate (sp?) while you sleep

i never normally eat breakfast, im not a breakfast person, unless its a weekend in the fall and i wake up at lunch time, then ill make some waffles, but anyways for skiing, no breakfast lunch is normally chicken fingers, maybe some waffle haus for dessert, then dinner is a normal dinner at home, my favorite is BBQ chicken pizza....ahhhh

What's that stuff called, I used to eat it all the time, back in the day......

Oh yeah......Pussy.

Forgot to mention... never use more than half the packet of seasoning. Also, buying ramen in cup of noodles form is far too expensive, huge bulk plastic packs at less than 10 cents a bowl is where its at.

Breakfast- cereal, usualy and maybe a bagel on the way out the door and like a granola bar for first lift.

Lunch - prob wont eat cuz im to stoked to stop riding

dinner- beer ramen noodels buffalo wings. pizza more beer and beer

haha...all I can think of is the poptart n coffee diet I happened to subsist on last year...wouldn't recommend it-but good times if you're poor-godamn skiing taking all my moolah :^)

Wegmans are only in NY and PA I think. They are mad good though. The buffalo chicken subs are the bomb shit. And for the thread maker mountian dews are always really good and refreshing and cookies, pretzels, and french fries are really tasty snacks.
