Good Stolen Gear Story

Alright Newschoolers, I got a pretty good one for you here.

A little over a month or so back, I left the hill and became suspicious I was missing something, promptly pulled over, checked and realized I didn't have something. Drove back to the hill, checked around, talked to lost and found etc. No luck. With my luck, someone had stolen my OG Red and White Jiberish x Level 1 Colab crewneck (The one commonly seen worn by Tom Wallisch back in the day).

So just yesterday, spotted a kid from the lift wearing the same exact piece and quickly got off and sped down to check it out. Surprisingly enough, this kid was wearing the same exact sweatshirt that had been stolen from me! (it has a noticeable rail stain on the front) Anyways, asked the kid where he got it from and his first response was "Newschoolers". asked again forcefully if he was sure, pointed out the burn, and asked him again if he got it from the mountain. He then asked me if I wanted it, proceeded to take it off and give it to me, and give me a story that he had gotten it from a racer (the day it was stolen was a race day). All in all, I got a really rare sweatshirt back so I'm not complaining, but damn.

I can't believe how stupid and assholeish people can be with other peoples shit. So that leads me to, and of you guys have any weird stories like that?

Last year, someone stole my jacket, but left theirs behind. In a pocket of the jacket was a piece of paper. On the piece of paper was a banking application form for overdraft protection. It had all his banking info and his signature on it. It's still in the pocket, I've had the coat for almost a year now.

It's a shit jacket tho, I miss mine a lot.

Same guy stole another jacket and sold it to a mutual friend. The friend didn't know it was stolen in the first place. Someone called the friend out on it and he gave it back to the owner. Nobody likes that guy, he sweeps construction sites and sells drugs on the side. Life will eat him.

Actually, last night I watched this girl stand in front of my skis all sketchy. She like looked around and sort of stood there looking like she was taking a break/ waiting for someone. She pulled out her phone while periodically looking around as if she was waiting. Then she got like impatient, threw her phone in her pocket and picked up my skis.

I literally just watched this girl take my skis and she starts walking towards me. So I stopped her and thanked her for bringing my skis to me lol and she kinda realized what happened and put them down and ran away. It was really awkward...

Not really stealing but the lost and found items/fallen gloves/etc. I nabbed when i bumped chairs last year were tite. Got some sweet work gloves

Ahahaaa she will probably be so anxious if she tries to steal something again ! 😂😂 I wouldnt have been as nice as you were though ...!

I have an exactly opposite experience. My season pass is like a credit card and I always have it in my pocket when I ski. The problem is that it is in the same pocket as my phone and sticks to my phone when I take my phone out to check the time or something. It has happened to me 2 times where I check my pocket and then realize oh shit my pass is gone. Both times a week later I found it in the main office where passes are put if they are lost. I am still surprised how people find a pass in the snow when I lose them but I am definitely not complaining. I am super lucky for this.

I would have fucked with her for sure, at least seen what she was going to do with them/taken video of it. That would have been great

Just Thursday i put my homework and oakley goggles unlocked in a locker (it had turned to night skiing and i have a dark lens) and when I came back, my goggles were gone. They didn't bother to take my homework, which would have been thoughtful of them. I am 100% some ski club asshole took them, and I really loved those goggles. Maybe this is a sign they will magically come back to me

Someone stole my girlfriend's poles while we were in the lodge having lunch. They're tradeshow samples that were never sold here, so they're one of maybe 2 or 3 pairs in the entire country - not as if you could mistake them for your rental poles or something.

We staked out a spot on the mountain where 2 chairlifts go directly overhead, after about 10 minutes we spotted some middle-aged woman coming up the lift with them. Called her out and she just threw them in the snow and scuttled away. Thieving bitch.

Most weirdly she had wrapped a bunch of tape around one of the straps, even though she'd only had them for maybe 20 minutes...

I don't know how to be mean. Im pretty awkward so that's all I could really think of to say. But yeah, they didn't get stolen so that's all I care about.

Uni ski holiday. My flatmate took his rentals off to go in the club. Came out, grabbed a completely different pair of skis which magically happened to fit, and proceeded to ski on them the rest of the week.

Rental shop had to show him the CCTV footage of him walking out of the shop with yellow skis to prove that the blue ones he brought back were not his. Nobody ever found his other skis, he got charged the £180 insurance fee or whatever.

My friend is an idiot.

My friend lost a Salt Lake City Olympic jacket for a long period of time and could not find it, one day in the lift line I spotted some lady wearing the same one and I was like hey nice jacket my friend had one like that but he lost it. She replied that she had gotten this one from the lost and found since she had lost hers and I said oh wow any chance I could get it when you're done with it and sure enough it was my friends jacket he'd been missing. Wasn't really stolen but I got it back.

I used to snowboard and one year I got a brand new board and had been shredding with my friend in his back yard park with a few other kids I briefly knew. After that I came home and just dropped my board off in the breezeway to my house and the next day I realized it was gone. Searched around and couldn't find it. Came to realize a kid that had been skiing at my friends backyard park knew where I lived, stole it and then said his friend did it and that he got it back for me after I called the police. Fuckin liar

not really stolen but a weird coincidence. last year i had my employee card in the same pocket as my phone, so it must have fallen out when i took my phone out or something. I didn't even know that I had lost it, and I was riding up the chair by myself. Near the top, I saw a lifty coming down the opposite way on the chair, not saying a word to anyone or anything like that. When he got to me, he yelled "Do you by any chance know a Ted Schumer? I have his employee card" (my name). Pretty much he had no idea who i was and hadnt asked anyone before me, we were both pretty excited about it

I would've stopped her and threw her in the snow while screaming at her, people can be dicks, and your skis are so dope, if they were stolen Newschoolers would track her down; haha we got your back mingg

I had my jiberish pocket windy stolen at waterville valley. A month later, I saw some dude at loon with it. If you're reading this, send me a PM. It means more to me than you may think.

Luckily I've never had any gear stolen. I did loss my phone because it feel out of my jacket so I'm sure someone grabed it. I left a sweat neckie at the hill and the next day someone just put it in the trash instead of stealing it.

Not ski gear but this fuckboy stole some kids beats in school from this kid. Then wore them the next day in the same class with the kid. So obviously the kid got them back.
