Good ski stretches to prep for grabs this season?

I want to learn a couple of new grabs this season, so I'm wondering.

1) What sort of stretches would get the right muscles to be loosey-goosey so that I won't have too much trouble reaching down for say, a high nose mute/

2) If I wanted to get higher on the tail for learning blunts/true tails then is there a good stretch for that too?

u dunt NEED to stretch to prepare for grabs lool but its always a good idea to stretch before skiing cause it sucks to miss half the season for something that you could've prevent by stretching!

pre season stretching helps a little, just work on the ham strings/legs in general, but really, just put your skis on and grab where you want to grab without looking. most grabs (not all) arent really dictated by flexibility, but rather the ability to grab your ski in the moment without seeing it; your body needs to know

for some reason im always hurting my groind (sp.)? so i always have to stretch that out and all also do some toe touching and wht not...

spread your legs while standing, as far as you can, then try to put your head on your knee and if you can't just keep doing it for a while until you feel loose then go to your other leg and then go down the middle (touch the ground). all of these just do them until you feel loose which is like 2.5 minutes of straight stretching.

yeah that's easy.

try this.. first take your left hand and grab your right foot. then try and jump you're left foot through the loop you make with you're right hand and left leg. its a lot of fun and even more fun to watch

haha at first I thought you to rick rolled us with one of the other Scott Vail vids. I can't believe this how many videos this guy has, good post

Also stretch your back because that can make your leg muscles tight. It makes you generally more flexable. Back is especially important in truck drivers if you want to do them.

i basically do lunge type stuff at the top of the hill on my first run

legs are the most important

then licking your elbow

I don't kno if any of you have heard of P90X, but a few months ago, i got about halfway through it. Part of the program is Yoga. Now i know ill probably get flamed for this, but I thought what the hell, ill give it a shot. before i started i couldnt tuch my toes, after doing it twice, i can get my entire fingers past my toes. So Yoga, will help your flexibility a lot. (and its a GREAT workout)

well i dont think specific stretches are better than others, they just stretch different parts in your body. if you work out frequently at a gym and if your gym has a sauna, go in there before and after your workouts and stretch while your muscles are already warmed up. its not good to decide to just randomly stretch when youre not even warmed up or anything

"do a regular power yoga routine and you'll be tweaking your skis right to your face"

ya, go buy a Rodney Yee DVD (Yoga for Atheletes, or Yoga Burn, etc.), it's excellent

And don't strech "hard" unless your muscles are warmed up. This will actually increase your chances of injury.
