Depends on where you want to go to college.

There are cool universities in

Utah they are a bit cheaper than some and it is so easy to get the resident tuition

Univeristy of Utah

UVSC

Colorado is also nice

University of Colorado-Boulder

Colorado State

really there are alot more too

Washington

UW

Western Washington U.

Tahoe/cali

College of Nevada -Reno

and a bunch of other places too

CMC Steamboat!!!! can't get much closer than that. Otherwise have fun on I-70 with all the other denver gapers

wow the thread should pretty much end there. Do your own research on that list because those are the majore colleges that will offer the best education and be closest to skiing. Anything else will probobally be further than an hour away or be a smaller school.

im goin to marylland for 1500 bucks a year (room and board included) all the money ill save on college i can just go skiing with.

Ski Resort Operations Management in Barrie Ontario.

www.georgian.on.ca for more details. It is a very intense two year business marketing program that has a sole emphasis on the ski industry. Many people have been fortunate enough to come out of this program with great jobs. I'm a graduate of this program and I think going to Georgian College was the best educational move I have made.

I hope this helps. Message me if you have any more questions about the program.

Depends on what you are going to school for. They have good programs and the have regular ones. Plus there is talk that the mountain right behind the campus is going to have a resort on it in the next 2-3 years. that would connect Ogden to Snowbasin. Can you say "ski in ski out dorms". And the cost of living in utah is low....

Thats would ruin Snowbasin IMO. No crowds/no liftlines is a biggie for me. Its bound to be another rich snob ski resort, but I hope it stays the way it is a bit longer. I'm thinking that would cause a lot more attraction (especially for rich people who love to be pampered).

i was gonna go to university of utah but i realized i needed better academics. i went to kalamazoo college in the middle of michigan, but i'm transferring to vermont.

Definatley the University of BC, but depends wich campus you go to, if you want good skiing along with good academics go to the Okanagan campus, cause you can ski Big white and all those other good mountains in the area

dont go. it sucks.

DU, CU-Boulder, or CC in CO.

UW, WWU, UPS, SU, SPU, PLU in WA.

UU in Utah.

UNR in Nevada.

MSU in Montana.

haha i love hearing all these kids talk about CU as a good ski college. If you want to drive 2 hours to go stand in a lift line, CU is certainly for you. If you want to ski, ski, and ski then you should go to Western State College or the U of U. I logged 130 days plus a full time semester this last term at WSC. There is also CMC at steamboat, but let's face it, Steamboat is a horrible ski area, realtively.

CU bowda, U of UT., montana st., CC in Steamboat, Mines if you are smart and depressed and want to be around more depressed smart kids.

that is cheaper than dirt. with that money i could not even go to ski camp for a week. you get some sort of scholarship or something?

CU is a good skier's college if the people are actually looking to get a real education and be in a pretty dope place.

UofU and MSU are good skiers colleges that are close.

But western, CMC, etc, are all shitty schools. The skiing is great, but the education is crap.

So, it depends what you want. CU is a great college if you like to ski and dont mind driving a bit. The girls are dope, the parties are sick, the education is good. You need to put up with the rest of CO skiing, but saying that CU isnt a good skier's college is fucking retarded.

if you ski at copper expect long lift lines, but Winter Park, Breck, Key, A Basin are not that bad. i can get to the mountains in 1:20. if you dont drive like a pussy its easy. and CU has parties and gives you a good education compared to every college you just listed. and also Freeskier and Jibij are located in Boulder, so clearly its a great place to go if you wanna ski.

Washington...

Western Washington Univ is bout an hour from Mt. Baker. Mt Baker is a SICK mountain. U of Washington is bout 45 mins from Snoqualmie. There is also Central Wash Univ which has Snoqualmie and White Pass pretty damn close, thats where im gonna be goin to school. Those mtns are pretty good. Over in the Spokane area there is Schweitzer, Mt. Spokane and a few others, but ive never skied those.

Colorado or Utah is prolly your best bet but Washington has some pretty damn options for school/skiing.

"UW, WWU, UPS, SU, SPU, PLU in WA."

Thought id add that SU, SPU and PLU are rought an hr or so from Snoqualmie, and there is Stevens Pass bout 1 and 45 from there. Baker is prolly 3 and 15. If you hit up some of the eastern Wash schools there is a ton of oppourtunity there...you could hit up Idaho Mtns like Sun Valley, Schweitzer, Bogus Basin...also you are within reasonable distance of places like Big Sky in Montana and other Montana resorts.

Yeah plus Castleton is way smaller than UVM(less then 2000) with a lot less to do, but cheaper and close to killington and okemo. I go to Lyndon State which is similar but farther north near Burke and Jay Peak plus there is a Ski Resort Managment program at LSC.

champlain college is pretty much connected to UVM. They're like neighbors, which means it's gonna be fun for me hopefully

Montana State in Bozeman, MT.

You get Big Sky with a tram and a decent park w/superpipe, and Moonlite on the backside for a more chill vibe. You can ski both with a Lone peak pass. Only an hour away.

You get Bridger, 30 mins at the most, with some great skiing inbounds and the Ridge to add to that. Not to meantion the terrific backcountry around the whole area.

So, Im going to MSU.

If you're looking for a small liberal arts school, check out Lewis & Clark in Portland, Oregon. Compared to UofU, WWU, MSU, CU-Boulder, etc. it doesn't have the best ski terrain in the area, but Hood still has a lot to play on and sick parks; plus, you can ski there all summer too. The mountain is about an hour away. I chose LC not just because of Hood but because Portland is a fucking great town and because it's centrally located to a lot of cool shit: the coast, the columbia river gorge, oregon rainforest, etc etc. You're also not far from Mt. Bachelor, the Cascades, Whistler etc.

And of course, the academics (and the pot) aren't going to be beat anywhere.

i think boden, bates an colby are near sugarbush, but they are kind of hard to get into so...

also, if you can get in to Oberlin, it is in ohio, but they are 30 miles away from Snow Trails ohio. Plus they have this thing called winter term where you get a "self assigned assignment". My sister goes there, and she read half of the old testiment for her religion class.

Winter term backs up to the christmas vacation, and lasts until the first week of february

Sure, a good idea if you don't mind that your Chancellor was caught with heroin. Twice.

Davis is fine if you want a great science education and don't mind racing all the gapers to the mountains for two (and then some) hours every friday afternoon/saturday morning.

fuck off western is a shitty school, it just has a reputation of being one. its actually a great place, the campus atmosphere is waaaaaaay better than anything at CU. want to be a number in a class of 550 where the teacher doesnt even know your name? or do you want to have a class of 15 with a teacher that smokes weed? thats what i thought. you learn so much more that way.

... hey get your facts straight about SNC; it was the president with meth and underage boys... and it only happened once... he's in Prison somewhere in butt fuck Nevada

bowdoin*, as and bates, colby, middlebury, dartmouth, uvm are all good schools in the northeast for skiing

also for a good education there is colorado college
