Good Sized Core Shot

Got a rock yesterday, 2x2 inch core shot, directly underfoot on a pair of Invaders.

Tried just a regular ptex fill, but it seems as if the ptex has cracked and is going to just fall out.

School me on base welding.

How much do shops generally charge for a core shot repair? Are there any other methods I can use to DIY it to avoid going to a shop for this?

Basically, there are few shops in my area that I trust.

hmm well i guess id get some appoxy or something of that sort, fill a uber small layer, sand/ruff it up, then ptex over that hopeing the ptex would grip it

yea I did the same last year not a core shot though. I went off like a 15 foot cliff that I had been jumping before and this time I tried a little left and landed right on a rock. I ptex it pretty oftenly

its a tough job man..if you wanna keep the skis i'd take them to a shop - you need a wet sander etc

2 inches by 2 inches? thats insane. ok well i had a small core shot filled that was about the size of .308 shel and that was 10 bucks. But with a shot that big if they fill it its goign t be very ceceptible to coming out again becasue its not goign to have the same stregth as the original base. so if the skis are important to you i'd get them fixed but you have to remeber these are invaders and it might be worth it just to buy a new pair of sticks.

Well, they are my only skis, and I definitely do not have money to buy new skis.

I read about the epoxy method, I may try that, and go from there.

forget the p tex and use 2 part epoxy. When using it apply one coat wait for it to dry then finish with another to fill the shot....sand and your done...
