I've seen all these posts, all these people talking about good hip-hop and rap artists but they seem to forget that this music is all about influence. The most influential rapper of all time is tupac. And i haven't seen his name once! how can u think you know about rap if you don't mention him. i know you people aren't into the thug life but there is still a lot of stuff that you can relate to, and personally i feel i can relate a lot more than the normal guy.

ya i agree its all like swollen memebrs and stuff i have nothing aggianst them but if u like real rap 2pac,biggie smalls and dr dre are wear its at

No he is not overrated, he spoke of things that werent even in his time. In one song he talks about twin towers falling for instance he was a leader in music hands down

Tu pac was amazing and still is amazing. He had a huge impact on rap, but you still have to remeber the rappers that came before him. Bands like Grandmaster flash and the furious five, Run DMC, Public enemy, NWA,Big Daddy Kane, Tribe called Quest and De la Soul. These are the people that i would say are the most influencial. They started rap, tu pac had a bigger influence on the rap of today, but the rappers before him created rap.

listen to And This Is For....

"any white boy that thinks he knows my struggle cuz he listens to Pac and his adrenaline doubles"

he just talks about rap and races, but in the end its music that moves people and good music transcends everything. so if you really are truly into hip hop i think you can find something good in most everything. pac, dre, snoop, aesop, slug, murs

i dont really want to get into an argument about what good hip hop is, but if it means something to the artist, and it can hit a cord in every person.

pac really helped for mainstream rap i think, and the thug scene. made way for every thug after him. but that is only part of the rap history, and in that aspect yes he is influental, now if you looked broader to hip hop and the elements of breakdancing, mc, dj, graffiti i dont think pac affected shit in that area. no where near the way run dmc, public enemy, beastie boys did. so if you want to talk influental to hip hop then you got to know what hip hop is, and what rap is, and please please learn your history boy

he knows what he's talking about

NWA, beastie boys, public enemy...all of them did so much for rap/hip-hop culture

not necceserally greatest of all time. i dont think there is a greatest of all time.

Talib, for me, is the best at the moment. A Combination of insane rapping skill, good quality lyrics, good sound and beat, and great personality. You can see he is driven by his music, not for money or fame, he doesnt diss people for no reason. He doesnt project violence to the masses, and he raps about important things.

For all these things (and more) i respect Talib Kweli the most out of any rapper today and most probably ever.

I listen to Talib Kweli everyday.

rap lyrics can get a bit caried away but when im skiing i could care less cause its only the beat i hear

while you say that it's all opinion about who is the best, it's also pure opinion when mentioning who you think has the most influence
