im into all kinds of punk i can apretiate pretty much any kind of music other than rap. Rap takes no talent at all the one rap group i respect is swollen members cause there dj can actually make a beat. Other than that rap sucks

AHHH...you people and your screwing up definitions for music. Dashboard is not EMO...true requires screaming breakdowns. I dont dislike Dashboard, I even saw him last week but he isnt emo at all. For some good punk that is pretty hard check out bands like Stretch Arm Strong, Rise Against, Recover, Thrice, and Hot Water Music...FOr some good emoish music check out Beloved and By A Thread...both are amazing bands. If you are really into Dashboard check out old Further Seems Forever stuff, it was the band Chris used to be in. My apologies for being such a nut about music labels...

Hmmmm.. again depends what kind of punk you want. I'm kinda on both ends of the spectrum. I like most normal punk/steetcore and I love pure ska (none of that punk/ska stuff). Like my favs right now are:

exit 18 is good too, but they're a small western band...for punk and ska mix you forgot less than jake...their newer stuff may show that they're getting older, but they still kick ass

The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs.
 
Skacore... check out Choking Victim.

Also, check out Leftover Crack... its really aggressive, and LoC is basically Choking Victim. It's sweet music.

Swollen members isn't punk. They are good, however. Another good one is Zeke. for a kind of more upbeat punk sound, the Ziggens.

i dont know why but i hate bad relegion. they never really did it for me, and i almost got thrown out of their show when i went. My friend threw a beer bottle at the stage, and they tahught it was me. We both blamed it on some other guy, and he got yelled at, but not kicked out.

Alkaline trio and Juliana Theory are pretty good. AK3 is kinda getting more mainstream and Juliana Theory is pretty chill but they are both good.

HAHAHA...oh the sellout statement was brought up finally on the punk thread. Dropkick Murphys and Rancid are just as big of sellouts as pennywise, both have had videos on MTV oh how punk...DKM were a lot better when Mike sang and they played venues with 200 people in them (am I more punk than you since I saw them in 1997 at the rat with all of 70 people there? haha). How about the Clash? damn their shit went gold no punk band goes gold. Good Riddance=straightedge, anti-flag=stupid wanna be political band...see you can make fun of any band if you want. Emo as a label is being over used a lot now adays as is punk and hardcore. I love when kids talk about hardcore as in Godsmack and Slipknot. Lots of people would argue punk has been dead for almost 20 years...who cares if you like a band you like them. A good way to find bands is look in the CD jacket (record sleeve) see what bands they thank, or go to their website and look at the links. Or just go to shows and see bands then buy their CD at the show and give them the money instead of Best Buy.
