Good programs for making beats

LOL if ur gonna be using strictly your pc ......fruity loops is the best program out....some professional producers still use fruity loops ...... 9th wonder makes all of his beats with just fruity loops
 
im looking for one too. I'll be using only my pc, and im looking for something simple and easy, i just wanna mess around with it. Im not planning on making really high quality beats.
 
u will need a keyboard of something to connect to your computer to actually make good beats using those softwares.
 
I use FL for drums, sample and chop in Cubase, use a MicroKORG if I want an analog synth, and also play guitar and make noise with a piano.

For you, start with Fruityloops. It can be very limiting though, so if you have the budget, get Reason.
 
it's all preference. i find acid easier and it has beatmapping which is the main reason i use it. sorry dudzer. it also depends on how your producing

Acid's sick if you get good loops, and then you can make ill songs for sure. Only problem is its mad expensive, or you can pirate it...
 
Not true. as said earlier, it's all preference. If you know the ins and outs of acid it can be an EXTREMELY powerful application.

There's about 4 or 5 programs that I genearlly flip between, but when it comes to sequencing and laying down drums.. the ease and simplicity of acid can't be beat. and I will still use it to this day.

I have personally used it one way or another with several major productions I've done, and I've blown away alot of studio heads when I've shown 'em some of the uses of the program.
