Good pole sizes

Ok, I'm gonna sound like a total nooob here. I'm really just stating skiing, I know, snowboarder, made the switch last spring. Buuut, I got all my skiing stuff and I just bought poles. I got 44's and I dont really care if it's cause small poles are like in or whatever, but is that too big? It kinda feels like it. I might cut em down an inch or two. Thoughts. I don't want my poles to be a bother.

i used that for awhile^ quite a few years back. but if you using them just for park, its kinda personal preference. just nok and inch or two off until they are comfortable. it seems like mine get shorter ever year mine are 32s

short, if you ride park, thats how like em at least.

elbows 90 degrees with them upside down if you dont ride much park, helps with your body position

fuck poles don't really meant shit for body position. Really just cut them till they are comfortable. My poles are pretty short because I ski bumps and park mostly, but if you are mostly skiing like park and all mountain you might want abit longer.
The only thing long poles help for is pushing, haha. 90 degrees is too long IMO i would say around your hips

no homo but i love small poles.....if i stand up strait and extend my arms down, the top of the pole rests in the palm of my hand

That is the traditional way to measure ski poles. If it sits at a 90 degree angle, technically you shouldnt be able to impale yourself on your ski pole if it is in your hand. Its truely all preference. Go ski with your poles and if they feel too long, cut them down. If you need any advice on how to cut a ski pole down send me a message and I'll give you some good methods to get a grip off and what not. Glad you made the switch to skiing!

lol thats like asking what are good pant sizes. its different for everyone. i use 52's so i have no idea how you survive with 44's it seems like when you need to push short ass poles do you nothing, might as well not even have them

it may just be the Boise scene, but we all have incredibly short poles. my poles are measured by me being able to pole plant yet still having the smallest pole possible. im 6'0 and mine are probably like 30 to 35.

but just an example there, personal preference. skiing is more about how you move your feet now with the new skis of the day, so pole plants are being more and more obsolete (at least in park)

if you race or if you bump ski then get your poles measured right. for ski ballet you want them about maybe up to your eyeline.
