Good park skis w a decent amount of rocker

I’m looking for a decent park ski with a bit of rocker. I ski a hill so carving doesn’t matter.

on3p mag 90s. Not great carving on ice because of edge detune but some of the funnest rail skis I've skied.

What's your bsl? I just picked up some reckoner 102s that I'll hopefully be skiing this weekend. I could probably go to lost valley next Tuesday night if you'd wanna try them out.

we’re closed mondays and tuesday’s but i mean if your coming to lv i wouldn’t be opposed. what length are they?

I did not realize Gilson did a 5 year warranty

It still does not cover things like impact. Because anyone who offers this kind of warranty is looking to fail.

yo i'll probably be at lost valley this thursday w/ max in case you wanna look at the skis. not sure what boot size you are but bsl is 318 for me.

Fellow nomad rider. Nomads are the perfect ski for me and I think a lot more people should check them out. Poppy, light, snappy, quick, plenty of rocker, and soft but stable. Super fun to just rip around on and a solid park performer. If I could find one thing to possibly complain about it’s the use of 2.2mm edges. Most companies are stepping up to 2.5. Regardless my brother has put 2 seasons (~50-60 days of nothing but park laps) on a pair of nomads and is planning on using them for a third. Durability is outstanding. I bought mine 5 years used and they’re still usable

how is the surface durability?

Pretty good for more budget-friendly skis. I have the 2020's Give'rs and the only problem is the tip delamming. It happened on both skis but i easily fixed it with a few rivets. It was the seam of the full wrap edge that split, but it's fixed on the newer model (Give'r, Sniper, Royale). Other than that, there's the normal edge cracks from skiing a lot of rails, and topsheet chipping (very minimal bc of the textured topsheet, even after a whole season).

I also have a new pair of 2021 Snipers that i'm gonna be trying out next year so I'll see how they hold up

j ordered a pair of odyssey’s today.

That's sick. I've always been curious how the 3-Stage rocker skis in the park. I could be wrong but aren't the odyssey's pretty stiff and have thinner edges? I'm curious how they are on snow. keep us updated!

The Odysseys are about as stiff as the Outsiders according to Surface.

3 stage rocker actually makes it pretty damn easy to balance on your tips only, no cap. When not moving, I can stay propped up on my tips only for a few seconds. The main problem is getting the skis to like actually flex a decent amount. I'm heavy af and still have trouble really flexing my Outsiders enough so that it looks good.

I'm gonna post my outsiders review pt. 2 here soon and i'm gonna go over why the 3-stage rocker is actually pretty fucking ingenious.

not super worried abt flex tbh more concerned abt durability

Great i used them park only for only one season here how it’s going (Giver 2020) had a friend who had the exact same skis got the same problem but the way bigger

Sheesh that's bad. I've got the same skis and ski about 60% jumps 40% rails. I have only a few edge cracks but I am a pretty light person. How many rails do you ski? And have either of you tried warrantying them? Surface was pretty good about it when i delammed both of my skis

well I went to lock at their warranty and if you ever did a rail with them the warranty doesn’t apply for your edge, I’d say I do almost 50-50 rails/jump. I emailed them 2 days ago but still didn’t get an answer. I started with an edge crack that did like a little bubble so I got it fixed with epoxy at my local ski shop but like 3 weeks in it was alredy over and I just look down and see this shit. Now I really liked the ski but I’m not sure if getting surfaces is a go for me so idk what to do

Damn bro that sucks. I got the exact same skis so hopefully my edge cracks don't get that bad. I've got 4 of them on the same edge. I would try emailing them again bc it took a couple tries for them to respond. It's worth a try I still got 50% off a new pair of skis even though they said its under impact damage.

Oh shit thanks yeah i'll do that if i get tha 50% im getting surfaces for sure. If its only cracks i think you should be fine mine had like a bubble so like the base was split. One thing tho as soon as it split stop riding them i finished the day and it was the worst mistake

been on them for a few months now, After hitting rails for 99% of my runs they only have one edge crack. the rocker is nice for shuffling spins because there’s barley any edge on the ground, small tail edge seperation but that’s honestly my fault. topsheet, who cares. i like them but i see why they stopped making them. they’re a good ski but the alternatives are better (sniper, giver, etc.) eyes up a pair of 2023 givers and just making these odysseys my beaters.

barely a crack, filed the hell out of it and it’s basically not there.

this happened yesterday at the seam of the full wrap like you were saying, heated that bitch up and epoxied it back in. Now that my season is 80% done i’d say for a 6/10 park ski these things are tanks in the park, I ski a lot of shitty rails so i was a little worried about the 2mm edges but only 3 edge cracks so far (one of them was done by a clamp so really 2) def buying givers next year but the odysseys were fun.
