Good mountain towns in WA - moving soon

Moving to WA for the next year or so just cuz it looks beautiful.

Got a few dif jobs lined up all over but I’m wondering if y’all have suggestions for some good towns with a lake nearby and skiing within a 30 min drive. I want a dream town.

so far tho I’ve looked at lake chelan, Wenatchee, Bellingham.

Any info would be appreciated

I live in Spokane wa so ill try and help you out. Im guessing ur looking in the cascades so first off like yakima isnt that great of a town but you have like white pass an hour away which has good resort terrain and a lot of cool backcountry bowls from what ive seen its also close to crystal which is pretty premiere but both are at least an hour away. You could also do anywhere from redmond to like snoqualmie area which all towns there are within an hour away from snoqualmie pass which would get you 4 resorts in one. Also the other side of the cascades have some towns that lead to the pass like cle elum but they are smaller. You also have leavenworth which is kind of a vibe its got its own little hill and its close to stevens pass which has some really nice terrain but i think its kinda spendy. Bellingham would be cool cause you also have lots of mtb idk much about wenatchee but i dont here too much good about mission ridge im sure its cool tho. Id say that ur best bet is redmond to snoqualmie area cause its close to towns and ski resorts its got plenty of lakes and its got the cool washington scenery and lots of green. Im kinda biased cause i lived there for a bit but that would give you the best of all options and just sayin spokanes got 5 different resorts within an hour and a half and theyre all great if you were looking at all on the eastside and the scenery is definitely not as good. Also you should consider oregon too cause they have some awesome mts and towns.

Holy shit thank u for the detailed response bro this helps a ton.

I live in silverthorne rn In summit county and i think I’m spoiled from having 4-5 resorts and a huge reservoir for the summer right here. It sounds whack but I need to be near water for the summer for exercise and well being lol.

im gonna look at some more jobs in Redmond rn.

again thank u for all the advice man

I live in Bellingham, can't complain it's awesome here. However if you are looking for a mountain town I would highly recommend Leavenworth, about 20 minutes west of Wenatchee. It has close proximity to both Stevens Pass and Mission ridge as well as a whole laundry list of other activities along the way. Another good town for outdoor activity might be Enumclaw which is pretty close to crystal and has a great view of mt rainier.

I’ve got an interview for a place in Cle Elum with a job that I really want and the area seems perfect for what I’m looking for.

Any resorts within like 30-40 of cle?

That the only one within like than hour?

alpental is totally seperated and has a lot of steep terrain and all the summits have just regular resort terrain and pretty solid terrain parks and all 4 have night skiing

Stevens Pass is next closest at like a little under two hour drive- white pass is about the same only going south. Crystal is like 2.5 from there. They aren’t geographically that far away but the terrain and rural east side means there’s not a ton of highways out there. One way to get from A to B basically

I basically only ride Arapaho basin and keystone/breck for the park. Comparable to that combo or no?

Edit - nvm lol that might not be the right winter place for me.
