no but for real I am worried for my family in Hartford, CT. Hopefully nothing will happen to them other than the motherfucking basement flooding (again) and maybe a power outage.

I am ready... actually i just saved all the packing I have to do for going back to school for when the power inevitably goes out. hopefully theres some pauses in the storm so i can take photos of the damage.

12 inches of rain isa big deal for CT.. plus the fucking wind that legit is gonna knock a tree over my house.

ok sorry man, im just going by what i get told on the news, and when Obama says its going to be a "historic event" it sounds drastic.

luckily where i am it is goning to be a low cat 1 hurricane to a high tropical storm. hopefully i dont loose power but i dont have much hope in that

But what you don't seem to realize is that the northeast isn't like florida. We aren't well equipped for hurricanes so its definitely a big deal...

vermont's supposed to get extreme effects. if our barn falls down again so help me god i will fucking kill a woman named irene

you are all being SUCH fucking pussies. we've had plenty before and this is a pathetic storm compared to the one that fucked new orleans up. if you're on a beach, leave and stay somewhere where you won't have a fucking tree crush you and you'll be fine. grow a pair you sally asses... actually you know what, stay on the beach because you will most likely not die and you'll get 20ft. waves. SURFS UP PUSSIEEES!

well yeah that's fucked up but...

katie i respect that you tried but next time try to understand what the fuck you're talking about before you speak your mind.

I just dislike sweeping assumptions. Who knows. You probably will be feeling bad to hear of people that diied in this storm when you were being rude. Also: for northern areas that are not prepared for storms even 50-80 mph winds are destructive....we had a THUNDERSTORM in my area and cars were destroyed, trees splintered, power outages for 24 hours and blocked streets from a storm much weaker than Irene is going to be. Thanks for calling me out but you're a noob, grow up.

yes a noob that grew up in NH and experienced many bad varying storms... yes i have no idea what i'm talking about.... which is why you live where? if you dislike sweeping assumptions, like yours of me and the assumption of how bad the storm was going to be (you were off by 30mph, by the way), then you must REALLY hate yourself.

15" of rain where i live in RI and i live on the water... facing the ocean... they say up to 35 foot swells... and a mandatory evacuation... anyone on the east coast i can room with for the next... 4 months?

Dude so many barns fell this winter in CT after a record snow year.. It was good and bad. But yea sorry about your barn :/ and good luck to it

I hope it's not going to be as big as theyre making I out to be but my family couldn't be any more prepared, big ass generator and 25 gallons of gas plus tons of food and water, it's gonna be exciting to see what actually happens

Are they letting people on to the island? In past big storms they wouldn't let people go out, only allow them to come back to the mainland

im in southeast CT and that is supposedly going to get hit the worse. plus i live right on the water. its gunna be good time me and some from friends plan to see if we can make out to the end of our pier. wooo! but really we are gunna get fucked by this storm
