Good light park bindings

salomon sth 14 driver is both lightweight and well built. driver toe=$ dont get the oversize or the z toe though, they suck

im liking my rossi FKS's they are really nice and light. The only problem with em is if you hike a lot they will get annoying. Its annoying to hike with them because Most of the time when I clip out of the heal piece it just pops right back up and ive heard the same problem about that from many other people too.

Happens to me. Its not really a problem, it just gets really annoying putting down the heal piece.

PS, be careful with those freeski/FKS/pivot heel pieces, when you fall, your asshole may or may not get raped.

word for the wise, never listen to kangbang, he doesn't know shit about gear

if you are riding a 16 din binding now(which you honestly shouldn't be with your stats), then there is no reason to go down to a 12 din. I would pick up a pair of sth 14 drivers, more durable then the fks 120's, better toe piece, wider mounting pattern, and the heal isn't a bitch in fresh snow

him and I both bought jesters because we both got them for $125 brand new so why wouldn't you go with a 16 din bindings if you can get a great deal like that?

bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha god you are a complete moron, have fun not being able to walk

if your riding a 6 or 6.5 din binding, a 16 din binding would be absolutely ridiculous for you. A 16 din binding has a minimum setting of about 10 (give or take i don't really know marker bindings that well) and you never want to go too much over your recommended din, for the obvious reason of not ejecting when necessary, ie. ragdolling with skis still attached would lead to some pretty unpleasant times. Also if your asking for a light binding (which is another retarded thing because binding weight doesn't effect swing weight) you shouldn't be getting a 16 din binding with metal in it.
sparknotes: 16 din = too much, results in death of your knees16 din also = unnecessary weight

Bindings have a spring inside which determines the release tension. If you push that spring to the lightest setting it tends to release inconsistently thus making the binding somewhat unsafe. Some shops will reject that mount because of it being so far on the low end of the spectrum.

OP. As far as light bindings go.. Don't worry about it. If you can't handle skiing an extra couple of ounces it's time to work out.

i didn't know that i'll admit, but in that case it brings up another issue. never mount your bindings at or even close to near the lowest they can, as it will release all the time. just stop being stupid and get a binding that is designed for your weight, ie. a 12 or 14 din binding.don't even try to argue because your obviously a beginner when it comes to gear
this thread is awful

NO
They aren't meant for that, just read the thread and get learned in the way of bindings.Read the stickied thread on bindings in gear talk, re examine what you think you should get and come back here. Do not come back if you still think you want or need a 16 din binding

sorry for being an asshole dude but sometimes its necessary
basically you could get really injured if you get a binding thats too much for you, and no one wants that. just get whats right for your weight and ability, not whats a good deal. you will be grateful in the long run

I know i dont need to ride it cranked up to 16,that's why the shop put it to 6,I weigh just over 135 pounds and I was told that was the right weight for a 6.

yes but you don't seem to get the fact that you should NEVER ride a binding at it's lowest din, your bindings should always be set around the middle of the din range. The guy at the shop that mounted them was an idiot for even mounting them in the first place. If you ride at 6, then you should be on a 12 din binding, not a 16 din.

this. you got screwed (pun!) by not knowing that the shop guy was being a dickhead, which kind of proves the point of the thread i just made.

well if you're still growing i'd save the bindings for your next pair of skis since they're really nice bindings and get a pair of 12 DINs. If you're done growing, i'm sure a million kids on this site would be more than willing to trade with you.
