Hey guys sorry if this is a repost but I'm looking for a lens that will be good for filming with on my t3i as I am planning on filming a bunch with my friends this season. My price range is $100-200. I don't know much about photography yet so any help is appreciated! Thanks guys.

If you will be doing follow cams in the park. For that price i would pick up a 14mm samyang or something of the sorts. If it will be on a tripod, then pick up a 50mm f1.8 for around 100 bucks. If your price point was higher then I would definately look into a tokina 11-16. I have one, as well as the 50mm and I love them both!

For a battery grip, i picked one up on amazon for around 30 bucks. It came with a few off-brand batteries which I havent had a problem with so far. The brand was called Meike

Thanks man! I already have a 50mm f1.8 I was just wondering if there was any other lens out there in that price range that were good for filming.

And I'm not gonna be far away I'll probably always be relatively close, like 10-15 feet away from the feature

Tokina 11-16, and you can get some cheap battery grips online that work quite well but if you are looking for actual canon quality I would usually stick with something safer

I can say the Meike brand grip works great, nearly the same rubber as what's on the t3i, buttons are good, only thing is cheaper dial, but if you're using it just to hold 2 batteries then that doesn't even matter.

Check amazon reviews on batteries, I can't remember what brand I bought but 2 of them shipped to my door in Saskatchewan was less then 20 bucks and they work in my factory charger AND they still display battery life in the camera.

I'd suggest buying a dual charger though, it sucks only being able to charge one at a time

Okay I came in here to retract my praise of how good knock off grips are. I thought it killed my camera. After a few days of searching I found how to fix an unresponsive camera I found the solution, and as soon as I put the grip back on the same thing happens again. Be wary.

and seriously, where the hell did your 10k posts come from

also, when does mission open? and how is the park? I've never been there. I'll make a trip down sometime and you can try out my tokina 11-16 and film some park laps

It opens Dec 7th man! And our park is pretty decent it's been getting a lot better over the past couple seasons, me and my friends are on park crew now too. You should make a trip out for sure if you wanna ride park!

here's a couple edits by tpills. he used a rokinon 8mm in both (only the 8mm for the second I believe):

If you like the focal length of your 18-55 and you want to up the quality, check out the tamron 17-50. I just got it and I love it! I filmed this whole edit with it. And if you look around hard enough, you can get it at a pretty good price (I got mine for $240)

Not to be a dick, but is the quality really much better? its a faster lens, but i mean come on there can't be a huge difference.

OP, save your money. especially when you're doing follow cams in the park, you don't need a f/2.8 over a f/3.5.

like, don't fix what isn't broken. you have a 18-55, why would you buy a 17-50? you have those focal lengths covered. buy the tokina 11-16 which is wider (and specifically what you want to do, follow cams) or buy a longer lens for a variety of shots.
