Good leg and knee exercises

what are some good leg and knee exercises? hurt my knees a while ago and trying to get them full strength....what are some good ones other than running and biking?

Do some squats dude, and some lunges, they really help out with shit like that. Also, if you squat and lunge prgressively, you will gain a surprising amount of strength in a short amount of time. Leg muscles build fast.

I hate it because it looks like it should be called the Prison Shower.

lift weights, and stuff i learned in speed camp which made my legs like numb the next day lol, walk like a mile on your heel's, just trust me on that one haha, and that um lunge walking, but you have to hold, take a step, and pause for like 2 seconds in the lunge position. and the last one, just go over to any steps in your house, put your toes on the edge of a step so like your heels hang down, and then use your legs to get up onto your tippy toes, and then go back down, and just repeat.

straight leg lifts

lateral leg lifts

hamstring stretch

ITB band stretch (just cross your legs and lean)

i have a whole damn list from the physical therapist

toe presses

calf raises

heel slides

knee extension exercises-- sitting with support under your knee and wearing a small ankle weight, do a quad set and straighten your knee to lift your foot.

knee flexion exercises-- may be done near a table or other support for balance. you bend your knee and lift your foot behind you as far as possible. you may use weights if you want.

proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation? i don't know what the hell that is.

other than that, trampolining helps your knees too.

Can't fight darkness with darkness, only with light.
 
squating is good cus it works just about all lower body, straight leg raises if you knees bother you, lunges, all good stuff

yeah well to get my knee back from hell i just lifted weights with it, and squats work okay.

no its not rehab...i never tore anything. im just bringing strenght into them and they hurt cause they are a lil weak from hurting them in winter. but not serious

i take a joint suplement year round cuz my knees kinda wear out toward the end of the season. it helps mass.

i like the power clean squats. you just do a squat during a power clean all in one motion and try to go as low as you can. a lot of leg exersise has been mentioned already.

stiff legged dead lifts

deads

lunges

reverse ham raise -but most gyms dont have this machine

dont do leg extensions or leg curls, they put a lot of stress on the knee

also running stairs and biking are good at building up the knees

 
Crouch against a wall with your back flat on the wall, your thighs dead horizontal and shins dead vertical (like you're sitting up in a chair). It kills at first but I've heard it's really good.
