they are soo good... oh and they changed their name to say hi..... i think its lame but that will make them easier to find on myspace and stuff

Most of the ones I listen to have been mentioned...except for The Hold Steady. Check out their album "Boys and Girls in America," it's amazing.

Also, check out The Current. It's a radio station out of St. Paul that plays a lot of indie stuff, with no commercials. Listen to the online feed for a few days and you'll pick up a bunch of new bands.

check out the album "The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me" by Brand New. Not emo-ish like their old stuff, they really found their own sound, and it's excellent.

that is a pretty good album, a bit emo in my books though.

i cant sing the praises of pavement and stereolab enough.

pavement being a killer, 90's, west coast, jangly guitar, toung-in-cheek lyrics outifit

stereolab being a french/ british space-pop socialist group with occasional kraut-rock leanings

has anyone heard of kimya dawson?

i feel like no one knows her music

it is so good!

... in my opinion

i thin she is on k records- i would reccoemend some of their other artists, also: the microphones, mt eerie, karl blau, mirah. all pretty cool

yeah, i know kimya dawson! i mean, the juno soundtrack brought so much more attention to her than ever before, but she's always been solid. she's actually from olympia, where i used to live.

i basically agree with all the other groups here, but i'll add a few.

i don't have itunes right now, but

Ben Kweller

Cat Power

my personal fav., Rilo Kiley

and Bright Eyes is amazing, however depressing.

sorry i can't really think of a lot to contribute right now.

The best thing is go get Spin mag, and look at the bands in there and check them out. They always have great picks for indie bands

if you like my bloody valentine or shoegaze style music, you will like m83.
