Good helmets?

i got a bern macon and its soo light and comfortable...my friend bikes for bern (derek stevens) and got me a hook up....there nice...and even though the brock foam isnt certified its real nice....and multi impact

Be wary of bern. On their site it ways that they are hard hats, not really helmets. They make eps foam versions of their helmets, but generally it's brock foam, not as safe as eps.

tru but i wacked my head hard on a rail with the brock foam and i was fine....it was a hard fall....ive taken equally as hard falls with my old helmets and the eps has cracked and hurt like hell with a wicked headache....but the bern bounced back and with the bern it hurt alot less

Salomon makes pretty nice helmets now too.

They have the typical removable visor, but a much nicer chin strap. I've had a problem with the cloth covering on the chinstrap falling apart on a couple of giro helmets i've had in the past.

The salomon patrol has some nice and warm faux fur on the inside of the helmet. At first i htought the fur would be really low quality and I would have little hairs frozen to my face and head, but I have worn the helmet for about one season and have had no such problem. Although the helmet does come with a salomon beanie to wear underneath to keep or noggin toasty, I've never had to wear it, even on days that got below -20 degrees F in Minnesota. For $120 its pretty pricey for a helmet, but if you buy it you won't be dissapointed.
