I hope you'll forgive me for my excitement, but I've just had a truly uplifting experience.
So anyway, its like this: I'm struggling to scrape together the money for my coming season as new expenses I hadn't even considered keep appearing out of nowhere and my budget is looking increasingly precarious. One major item I needed to buy was some new pants and the only ones that I really wanted in the right colour was the 686 smarty soldier in red which was gonna cost me serious £££- you have to look good and stay warm/dry no?
Today, I wandered into Tk Maxx after work because I was bored and came across a whole rack of ski gear (which I didn't realise they sold). It was all hideous except for one pair of XL red pants which caught my eye immediately. Upon closer inspection it turned out they are Helly pants from a previous season (who gives a flying fuck? I don't). I tried them on and they are super-baggy, newschool type pants. Awesome I thought. Here's the sick bit though: They are 15000 mm water resistant, fully taped seems, full length insulation and... reduced from £190 to £39.99!!!!! Past season or not, this is insane value for a killer product. Needless to say I jumped on the deal and now have a killer setup for the season ahead!
As I say, this has not only got me super stoked, freed up about £150 which I can now spend on more awesome gear, but most importantly restored my faith that miracles can happen and that the gapers that run this (hitherto rubbish) chain of shops have unwittingly provided me with a big smile! I don't know if you have Tk Maxx across the pond, but anyone who passes one by, I urge you to check out the ski gear on offer, so you too can be stoked and so that some gaper doesn't steal these killer bargains! (they also had some chilled helly shell jackets and also some cool stuff from Nike ACG. The rest of the shop was gay.)
