I recently turned 16 and am looking for a job to get for the summer and to keep into the school year. What were some of your first jobs or do you have an recommendations or advice for me? Thanks!

Fast food, everybody should work fast food when they are a teenager. It will make you appreciate every job you have after that and you will want to study harder in school so you will never have to do it again.

My first job was a hand job.. after that I got a blow job. I think I've had a butt job (like titty fuck but with butt cheeks in shower) ? but I know I'm still waiting for a boob job (titty fuck)

Yup, first thing you will learn is helping humans gather food to servive does not pay.

My first job was/is working at Zumiez. I'll probably get hated on but it's our only real "skate shop" in my town and I love it. Sure there's some aspects that make it feel like the corporate job it is but the rest of the time it's got a small skate shop sort of vibe (at least at mine) I highly recommend it. You get paid decently for doing basically nothing but putting together skateboards and folding clothes. You also get to meet some pretty cool people everyday.

Worked at a local fish market. Was an AWESOME job. Great crew, learned a ton, appreciated work and learned to aprpeciate the value of a dollar.

Not to mention I made SO MUCH MONEY. Worked off the books making $20 an hour (which I know is quite high for that age)...that being said there is plenty of jobs otu there if you look hard and present yourself well.

I wouldn't accept minimum wage. I think its very easy to get a higher paying job in todays day and age. Food service like a restaurant or wahtever can be really good for wages but hours kinda suck

not even fast food, just food service in general. or just service in general. you learn time management as well as dealing with fuckwads, which are a common species amongst the tall grass.

Smaller family owned restraunts make you bust your ass way harder than fast food. Fast food is super basic.

Get a cashier job at target or Walmart or some big retail place. Goes along with what others were saying about learning to appreciate white collar jobs and also to get a perspective where you can see all the dicks in the world and to not be like them. Plus $11/hr is never a bad thing

Cutting grass and landscaping is the probably the highest paying normal job you can get at your own age. If you find your own yards to cut and work on you'll make like $20-$30 an hour. Even if you work for someone else you'll get like 10-15 and it keeps you in shape to.

grounds crew is pretty chill, depending on the course you can either get lots of hours and make $$$$ or be out by 10 A.M. every day. Good job for learning how to operate machines and pretty much anywhere you go in the country there are always golf courses hiring in the spring.

I work in a ski shop in the fall and winter and work as a greenskeeper in the summer. Ski shop has a great atmosphere and easy work. Being a greenskeeper is a little more labor intensive and pays better. It's also nice to be outside 40 hours a week instead of being stuck in the basement of a ski shop for 12 hours. (yeah I worked 9 to 9 with a 15 minute lunch break more than once)

my first job was and currently is laying pipe, going to school is kinda a no-go for that one though considering I got hired on full time.

I lay a lot of pipe too

put up flyers and go door to door looking for old people with money who need mulching, weeding, pretty much anything done around the house and charge $20 an hour. It's pretty easy to find a good amount of customers and then u can work half the time as your friends with minimum wage jobs and can get annihilated the whole time

Im working at a tenting company, (like tents for events and parties). The hours are shit but it's only a couple days a week because some days can go up to 20 hours. $12 is pretty good and anything over 40 hours you get $18.

Right now I paint houses for $20 an hour with my dad til I go back to school, but before this I worked at a cellphone store. You learn communication/sale skills, plus you get commission on top of hourly wage. When my commission check came in, it was like getting a second full weeks worth of pay

Cart barn at your local golf course. Pretty much a real solid job except i have to open sometimes whoch means being there by 5:30. I took an hour nap on a golf cart today tho

Start in construction / trades. There are no good first jobs, but the best first job is one where you actually learn useful skills.
