i need a good first car, but my parents have some restrictions:

must have:

4 wheel drive

Wagon

Any suggestions?

Agreed who cares about looks as long as it isnt all rusty and shit its your first car..I'm driving a 93' plum camry with 172k miles on it as my first and the things dope as hell

an impreza wagon basically is an outback, they have legacy outbacks, impreza oubacks etc.

The only real difference is the 'subaru impreza WRX wagon' alot different than the others. Good luck gettin gon eof those for your first car, not a very smart move.

Audi A4 Avant with a 1.8t (b5), quattro with a 5speed, is what I would get. well actually I'd get an S4 but I don't suggest that as a first car (insurance would have a fun time with you)

other VAG suggestions would e a 1995.5 Audi S6 Wagon, they are relatively inexpensive these days, have a great engine, and are a blast to drive. I'm actually thinking of picking one up myself and selling my current car

really everything above is a good choice, it really depends on your needs and what you will be paying for in regards to the car. If your covering repair costs, stay away from Audi's BMW's unless you have a well paying job.

get a volvo station wagon any model any year...they are so legit and super reliable. I have a 01' v70 turbo wagon which hauls ass and gets good mileage

Whats the most you can spend...?

Most-Mercedes benz wagon

Upper- A4

Mid-Outback

Cheap-Mazda, ect. ...

at least you have some choice in getting a car, fuck you i have to drive a '92 previa man.

Subaru Impreza Outback Sport

but you asked for a wagon, i barely consider impreza outback as a wagon... on the other hand, a legacy outback is definitely a wagon

i also suggest volvo if your looking for a wagon, sure theyre for soccer moms and shit, but theyre incredibly safe, and who knows... its your first car, you dont want something that will kill you when you crash (if you do... my brothers been in 4, and is on his 3rd volvo right now)

not AWD, but FWD i have a 1997 saab 9000, it bnig so it plows thru snow, you cna get a turbo, so its decently fast, i get like 22 mpg city and 30-45 highway. cost about 25-3500 depending on specific model and year. but they run good but if you need a part it can be hard to get/expensive to get.

lmao,

oh well, its resolved, my dad was in a great mood, and i convinced him to get me an audi a4 3.2 liter in dolphin gray, only problem is the only way we found a good deal was by looking hella far away. we found one in California and i live in Seattle, XD

If you want to mod the car, convince him you need a 1.8t (trust me, Audi's are what I know best) or for the price of a b6, why not get a b5 S4 instead and have a wicked fast, fun car to toy around in.

nice, check ebay and shit, which im sure you are doing. and cars.com and stie like that, youll find a good deal in your area.

because its his first car...why would he ever do that. and imo, an audi is not a very good first car. you're going to be paying more money for maintenance in that thing than you will in a years worth of ski gear...at every maintenance stop. if you dont have to pay for it then i guess it doesnt matter, but i dont know too many 16/17 yearolds that can buy, insure, gas, and maintain an audi as a first car, unless you have an intense job

Well you already seem to have decided and you rejected everyone's suggestion. Thread = pointless.

Oh I don't know, maybe he is a gear head and likes working on cars so his whole plan is to build his first car up to something really special. I don't expect many people to see the way I do with cars, I've found that one out in life that I'm a special breed who likes to make his car his own, especially old cars.

Also I know a good amount of people who have Audi's as their first car, pay for them themselves, and have mods done to them.

Anyway I was just letting him know if he has any intention to mod for power, whether it be now or later, don't get the V6 platform because you are very limited in your options, thats all I was saying

If he only wants looks then by all means get the V6 over the I4, it is a better car stock vs stock.

how about you jsut read what a thread is about instead of psoting abounch of way to spend money on his FIRST car.

Buy my 2002 WRX Wagon! I'm in Vancouver, that's much closer! Turbo 2.0L 4-cylinder is better on gas than a 3.2L I6 and the insurance will be waaaay less. Plus the wrx is faster. 120,000km, silver, $14k. Do it!

haha i liked how you said the outback is ugly when you specifically asked for a wagon...like lets be serious what wagon looks good? next to none, besides those two that were on top gear, the mercedes and the beamer

my jeep was terrible. the soft top is the worst thing in winter period.

even if its a cherroke (sp) their still boring to drive.
