Any suggestions on a high-quality digital camera -lots of features, manual settings (as well as auto).

Fast shutter speed so I could do sequences would be a plus. any thoughts? thanks.

I know cameras can cost around $5000, I'm hoping to spend under 1200

im not entirely sure about sequencing, but ive used the 3.1 megapixel sony Cd Mavica, i forget the model name but it was really nice and had a lot of manual features

If you want to do sequences, you really need 7 frames per second at least. The cheapest camera I know of with that fast a drive is Minolta's Dimage 7i, which is about $1000. You can get away with a slower drive though, on smaller jumps or slower rails - I took these photos with a 2.5fps Canon S200:

You can't really go wrong with higher-end Canon, Nikon, Minolta or Fuji.
