Good deeds

so guys i programmed a website for a non-profit organization that wants to provide a platform for good deeds basically. you enter (without personal data) if you have done something good or plan on doing something like donating, reducing some kind of consumption or whatever.

i am not taking any money for this and actually will not charge for putting this on my servers as there is 0 money involved. no advertisements, no business sponsors. seriously. i think its a good cause to show what you have done (preferably anonymous) and inspire others.

after social networking and a billion other meaningless social things, maybe we can do a little social world improving.

----------------------------------------

the site is still in beta, and even if you dont wanna enter a new pledge, maybe you can browse around a bit and help me correct the obvious english problems (neither me nor the guys who wrote the stuff are native speakers). if you like the idea, you can share the site with the buttons at the bottom or share a specific pledge after clicking on it.

thanks a lot guys. please share if you like it, if not, kindly fuck off.

Pc as in political correctness/personal computers/park city?

Neither should be considered derogatory. Well, ive obviously never been to park city but whatever. If youre still referring to that thread where we both discussed IQ differences and you failed to answer me why south korea and japan would have been the best environments for developing high intelligence, please shoot me a PM. but dont miss out on this chance to save the polar bears because of personal differences

I did basically all of the above. I entered OP's mother (and definitely without providing my personal information such as real name, phone #, etc), did her good, donated my seed, and reduced her consumption of alcohol for the next 9 months. What came out was definitely a "whatever."

The 3rd thread on the subject in a couple weeks.

Do people really feel the need to post anything good they've done everywhere? I mean I see it on facebook fishing for likes, now there are a few threads on here.

Why does everyone need a pat on the back for doing something good.

That said the world would be a much better place if people cared about the people around them.

the way i see it its about getting more people to care. showing them that other people in their countries do something. people sometimes feel like their voice or action are meaningless. i mean, how often do you hear someone talking about how unimportant his actions are. like carpooling or biking to work or something. if one person does it, its completely unimportant. most people think like that and wont even care to do it. but if you read that hundreds of people do it, you might think about it. and at some point, it will make a huge difference.

to sum up, "a pat on the back" is the least thing this project is about. it is about being unselfish, inspiring and generous whenever possible.

really appreciate all the guys who checked it out, thanks to you!

hard to decipher which "ad campaign" lead to which pledges, but NS obviously played a big role in the "spike" in activity over the last few days. obviously its nothing huge (20-30 pledges i think) and it might never be, but as long as it inspires a few people to do something inherently positive, it will never be a failure.
