"Police are looking for a group of 'trike drifters'

It is called ‘trike drifting’, where grown up men build their own adult sized trikes, and embark on a hair-raising journey - some in bare feet.

And this video of the trike drifters was filmed right here in Auckland by film maker Devin Graham.

“I heard about these people that did drifting on these tricycles that they rigged and what-not, so I got their phone number and contacted them – like ‘hey, I love what you guys are doing and I’d love to make a youtube video on you’,” says Mr Graham.

Filming took three hours and Mr Graham got as close to the action as possible - for the benefit of those at home.

“In order to get the cool epic shots you have to throw yourself in danger – the closer you can get to the action…”says Mr Graham

The last time 3 News checked 4.8 million people had viewed the trike drifting video - including Police, who plan to prosecute these trike bandits for breaching the Land Transport Act.

And it's not the first time trike drifters have had a brush with the law – last August a Christchurch man was charged with careless use of a vehicle.

If Police find these men, more arrests are likely.

Thought this was about the show 'the GC' and frist But they are good cunts. Our mountain has a drift comp for them up its road the other month too

I don't see why a law could be enacted to stop that. And even if, I figured New Zealand would not be the one not pass such a law (unless they're not as cool as aussies are said to be). Seems more like something that would be banned in america.

Funny thing is, it's the same with longboarding. When you were young, who didn't go down hills on their bikes and stick their foot in the rear fork to skid around. Nothing wrong with that right? Do the same on a longboard and you get in trouble. I always tell people, if we were on bikes you'd have no problem with us riding down the hill.
 
And I could see that people would have qualms with them being towed by a car, but if they stay in their lane and let faster vehicles pass then I see no problem. When we do hills we make sure there are no cars and don't do anything dumb if cars do show up.

Fuck yeah, these guys are living the dream. They look like they are having a great time in each video.
