Good Colleges near skiing?

Theres a lot of threads about colleges that are really close to skiing, but no really great colleges. What are some good colleges, that are still within an hour or so of skiing too?

Hello? The University of Washington. 60 miles to Alpental, 90 miles from Crystal, 110 miles from Baker, 120 miles to Stevens, 3 hours to Hood, 4 hours to Whistler.

Need I say more?

Plus the UW gives you a free Season's Pass at Snoqualmie and Alpental w/ access to their Chalet if you agree to work w/ Husky Winter Sports which has you teach professors how to ski on Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings...and you don't even have to do every weekend!

U of Utah....good school, one hour from 7-10 huge resorts.

better to burn out...

...then fade away

dude im totally stoked about my descision to come out here. All my friends told me blah blah stuck up mormon town blah blah. I have mormon friends that party harder than I do which is a pretty good accomlishment. Rents cheap, out of school tution is reasonable. Lots of cool people. Plenty of shit going on downtown at night. Water ramps half hour away. 600 inches of snow. The best hiking/backpacking and climbing I've ever seen. All in all this place kicks major ass

God is an American.

So is the University of Washington and several of the previous ones mentioned. Maybe you're too smart for those? Guess Harvard is the answer.

dartmouth, colorado college (meh... drive two hours i think for skiing), Davis in Cali, middlebury like previously mentioned, williams college, colby, smith if youre female... hmmm mainly youre going to find that all of the excellent schools near skiing are going to be on the east coast, which isnt the best skiing of course... think about going to school in mainland europe, good skiing, youll have a better chance to learn different languages and youll have lots off interesting experiences to go along with it.

U of Utah. I graduated from there, and came out from Chicago. i wondered if it would be good, but i don't regret it at all. I had a blast, skied a shit load, went camping a bunch, and still did ok in school. also rent around salt lake is cheap, as is tuition. and did i mention that snowbird is 22 miles from the dorms. and it is only a 40 min. drive to PC for a sick park. ALSO, it is centraly located to ALL other ski areas in the west, so you can travel a bunch if you want or if you are doing the comp thing.

trust me, go to the U of U.

Montana State University in Bozeman offers pretty good skiing, and it's super close- Bridger is 20 minutes from campus, and Big Ski is a little under an hour...plus there's backcountry everywhere, so if you've got the gear you can ski anywhere.
