Good colleges for skiing?

I dont know if this is a repost or not since I only spent 10 seconds cheching and didnt see anything. But anyways, skiing is more than a passion to me its my life. Since im only a junior in highschool, people seem to think that i cant possibly know what i want to focus my life on. But I do know. I know that i will never be more of a pro that what my PSIA certification classifies me as. And i know that I have to get an education and a decent job if i want to pursue a life oriented around skiing. So with that being said, what are some colleges that are near good ski resorts, or even better, colleges that are in ski towns? Ive done research on the internet but i would appreciate some personal insight on the subject. Thanks NS'ers

go to a school that has a really good program for your major..not for where you can go skiing. It seems like a stupid thing to think about at your age, but visit as many schools as you can and pick the one that has the best programs for you and feels the best to you. Nothing is worse than being at a school you hate.

This cannot be stressed enough. just because there is good skiing nearby doesn't mean that you will end up liking the university or the program you are. I made this mistake and now have no idea where I'm going or what I'm gunna do

I have the academic ability to be an engineer, i have already done some job shadowing, and im thinking that i am going to go to school for electric or mechanical engineering. And i agree that i dont want to focus my whole college experience around skiing, my education definitely comes first. but being in the outdoors in general is very important to me and i want to pick a college where i can get in to nature by means of skiing during the winter and hiking/kayaking in the fall and spring.

make some trips, do some research and visit schools and get a feel for the area around the campus. I can't stress visiting schools enough. Make sure its the right fit for you and you will enjoy it so much more.

actually i would say that going to a school you hate would be worse than not going to school at all.. i would rather not go to school and figure out what i want to do instead of spending a lot of money at a place where i'm not happy. But yeah you're right what would i know!!

where do you live?

if proximity isn't an issue id check out colorado school of mines, it is a great school and in terms of money you'll make after college its the highest in the us, I forget exacts but at mines you make like 10 dollars to every 1 dollar it costs, not to mention great skiing is just a skip away
