Good college with good ski possibilities

umm stanford is pretty close to the ocean

the god mountains like tahoe are about a 3 hour drive east
 
-COLORADO COLLEGE, in Colorado Springs. One of the best private colleges near good ski country.

-MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE, in Vermont.

Ok, it's Vermont, but the school is academically amazing.

Otherwise you'll probably want to go a step down in levels of academia with public universities in Montana, Colorado, Utah or Reno, NV. The Univeristy of Denver would be a good one, too.

UVM (That's Vermont) is a good school, too. But, it's Vermont, again.

Those are the ones.
 
So u would say these two school have the best education near ski areas? I also heard of this university in Pensylvenia Hurshey or something, which was one of the best of the country. SO hows the skiing there haha?
 
if u want to stay on the east coast i suggest UNH or if ur super smart dartmoth, from those school ur about an hour and half from killington, stratton and okemo and about 40 min from waterville loon and additash
 
but college is a lot of money and shit and i'm sure money is tight when you get there. wouldn't you want a season pass to a close place nearby instead of lift tickets to 3 different places? maybe i'm wrong whats your opinion

Well in Colorado you got CU/DU for business Mines/CU for engineering and everything eles is pretty much a waste of time. CSU is good and colorado college is good but the other are not very good schools. Boulder and DU are close aroun 1.5 hours Mines is 1hr CU is a party school and it is fun to party there but would not want to go there. I hate the kids that come out from east coast and cali who think they are bad ass at everything then go skiing for 2 hours buy food on the mountian and ride home in their jetta then say that they are hard core skiiers. I go to mines by far the shittiest school in colorado and I get in 50/70 days every year and the kids at CU who get to drunk to see every night get half that and go to half as much class as me. I dont know about other states I like colorado but summit county is getting so crouded that I am tempeted to tell everyone that it sucks out here.
 
I go to Johnson State College, and I really like it, close to Smuggs, Stowe and less than an hour from Jay. Its a hippie school, but its still fun, just a bunch of drinking and smoking.
 
Thing is and dont take it badd haha. But my dad wants me to go to the best universities like Harvard Yale Stanford. I'm not a spoiled fucking kid or something he just wants me to get good education. So he was talking about Hurshey in Pensylvenia and I liked stanford myself. But I dont no the skiing there. Stanford will probabley couple hours drive for skiing but 3 4 hours aint that bad I think... But when u go to Colorado u guys ski everyday then? That sounds so cool!
 
Stanford is in freaking San Francisco man, not really a ski town.

And if you actually ski backcountry and the rest of the mountain, don't go to an east coast school. All you'll find there in terms of skiing will be terrain parks.

Someplace in Colorado or Utah would probably be your best bet. But if you just want some ivy league name on your diploma, youre probably stuck in the east....or San Francisco
 
Wait Umass Amherst? I live in Amherst, and we're about an hour away from a mountain, and it's a small mountain with almost no park. The closest decent skiing would be pretty far away. And even that skiing isn't amazing.
 
There are not much differences in the undergrad programs between CU and Standord. And you are a spoilded little fag. You get on a skiing website to tell everyone that you want to go to a skiing school then suggest Stanford. That is fucking retarted. You dont even know what you want to do and frankly I doubt that you even have the intelegence to get into a place like stanford. If you want to and have the means to go to an ivy league school then go by the way Stanford is not an ivy league school. You can waste your time and money because in the real world you ether stand out, know someone, or get lucky. And as we all know its alot easier to stand out and get lucky at an average university.

Dude, listen!! First of all I dont want to do any ungrad programs in the us! I want to get my master in business there or do it all. If you probably know high school in Europe are much better than in the states so as college. Only master programs and stuff are way better in the US. So dont say I dont have the intelligence cause you dont even know me. I just got 17 and Í just want some information about education and skiing. I work really hard and I love skiing and I'd love to do it both...
 
I agree that there are lots of kids at CU that say that they are hardcore skiers but when it comes down to it it's all a false image, but CU does have its fair share of hardcore skiers. We get up at 6 and hike to get first tracks, eat crackers on the mountain, and ski open to close and then camp in the parking lots or build snow caves on the mountain to get up and do it again all day the next day. Maybe it is because you guys are a small school, but I have never talked to any Mines kids at any mountain, and I even see Colorado College kids a bunch because they get fridays off too.
 
i'll let ya in a little secret known as WSC in gunnison CO. 25 miles from Crested Butte and like 50 from Monarch, most extreme lift accecible terrain on the continent.
 
First of all you present you self as an very unintelegent person. Second the US has the best universities in the world and you are not going to go straight into a masters program because you graduated high school in europe. Lastly there are thousands of major programs and none of them apply untill you graduate from a university.
 
Thats sick ya man crackers and mustard. Anyway there are not a whole lot of hard core skiers at mines because it is such a nerdy school. Also unlike CU we get tuesdays and thursdays off so we dont get Mon WED FRI off like CU so that could be some of the reason that you dont see mines kids.
 
You think that I don't know all this? Please stop with saying all these things cause its all bullshit. When I get my bachelor in Europe than I want to do my master in the states like I already said!
 
CMC is a 2 year school, so you can only get your Associates Degree if you go there. And Sierra Mountain in Nevada is a liberal arts school.
