ok. so im getting into twin tips and just sorda looking around. i found a pair of line invaders 171 with bindings (i think the 05/06 model). im looking for a cheap durable ski. i've heard these skis are not vary durable cuz the delam. i mainly do some all mountain carving and some jumps here and there. not into park yet but we'll see. im 6' 240 so i em a bigger guy. let me know if ya guys know a cheap durable ski. thanks.

The Armada El Rey is a cheap twin, however I'm not sure how it will perform.

Chances are it will have more life in the park than the PE though.

you are too heavy to ski invaders or anthems because they are so soft. but the next choice would be something stiffer like volkl walls or ledges (i think somebody mentioned them^), but those are a little pricier. even el rays would be a little soft. also, i love my ar6s which are on the stiffer side

Hey man, at 6ft. 240, PEs are a nice snappy ski that is durable as shit. You can ski park on it but you can also let them loose at high speeds and not worry about chatter. Definately not a noodle.
Plus you can find them at a very reasonable price so you can have money left over for bindings.

take a look at line chronics or chronic blends too... for your height and weight i wouldn't recommend getting anything on the softer side, specially if you aren't gonna do much park.

im gonna take a look into the pe's. i don't do a bunch of riding a year (5 times or so) so im looking for something cheap withing 200-300. im mainly gonna buy used tho for this year at least.

If you go to a local shop/ dealer, some times they have used sections. They're cheap as hell, ur supporting local and the guys there may have input/ advice.

go with the 179 PE's my friend, I picked up the 05/06 model for about $230 with tax. They are AWESOME. Im also a bigger guy (6'1", 215 lbs.) and I love them. They're stiff by today's standards, but its easy for big guys to flex them if needed. its a legit ski and you should seriously consider it.

fyi, for bindings, get anything with a DIN of about 15 and make sure theyre metal. I reccomend the Mojo 15

I just bought some fischer addict pro for 180$ and they would be plenty stiff for you. I have the pe's also and they are extremely durable. I prefer stiff skis over soft anyway

i second this, chronics or blends, great all mountain ski like the PE, but a little less "planky" in my opinion.
