Good Camcorders for under $1000

Just wondering what you guys are using, and what you would reccomend.

I like the idea of hard disk storage, full manual controls, 3ccd (and HD, but I'll probably only upload to web sources, so that's not a huge deal).

Cheers,

Mike

Stay away from hard drive cams man. Their video quality sucks because

of their codec or something. If I were in your situation I'd go for a Canon

hv20. It's an HD consumer level mini DV cam and it shoots absolutely stunning quality video. Also it has all the basic manual controls you'll need.

Thanks for the help guys; I've been looking around, and it seems like the HV20 might be my choice!

Here's a great website for all things camcorders. It has the most thorough and scientific reviews of almost any camcorder, and is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a new camcorder!

BTW
HV30's have been selling cheaper than HV20's lately. Hv30 is the upgrade, so i'd go for that one over the 20.

werd my sis has one
the only bad thing is that it takes up mad space on your computer cus of the HD
