Good boots or back up skis?

Alright so I want to make the good decision. And due to my budget I can only get..

A.) Get brand new boots either hot doggers or spk's

or..

B.) Get a back up pair of park skis w/bindings Step Up's or Da'Nollies and a cheaper pair of 2010 SPK pro's...

Please give me some good advice on what i should do and depending on the decision which boot or skis..

There is no one better to ask for advice than NS.

Thanks for your time..

Go get fitted for boots. Good fitting boots are the most important piece of equipment, so getting a pair that fits you properly is imperative

^ i had gotten fitted for spks and am a 28.5 and going to get fitted for full tilts had got fitted before but not in a while for full tilt.

If your foot fits an SPK chances are it won't fit a full tilt... Completely different fit on feet....

Don't go for boots that are "cool" get boots that fit.

ok well i have hot doggers at the moment my foot is fairly wide but i can fit a full tilt and an spk that is why i am deciding between the two.

Defiantly go for the boots, Ideally get them in a shop. Its not just the boots your getting, you will want custom footbeds too and have the boot fitted.

Regarding the Full Tilts and SPK, if you fit well into an SPK you wont fit into the narrow shelled Full Tilts. The wider lasted versions may work though.

You really need to get your feet looked at and let the fitter recommend the boot, it may turn out to be neither of the SPk or FT

Well which one do you actually fit in, because I guarantee that one of those doesn't fit properly aka the Doggers if you have a wide foot.

Therefore, spend the money on a properly fitting pair of boots.

i have the doggers and they were a little on the narrow side, but after having them punched wider they're the comfiest boot I've worn

boots for sure!!! if you end up really wanting some backup skis you can find some really cheap ones (guessing by backup you mean beater skis) imo boots>skis

Aslong as it fits your foot dude... really even if it costs extra $ to go to a shop, having a boot that doesnt fit can ruin your season.

Pls only let a bootfitter change your options... I bought myself some FTs 2 years ago because they were so cool and now have them up for sale because they just dont fit my type of feet properly. bought them for 600$ now selling them for 200$. Thats a 400$ loss without even having new boots yet. I dont think you'd want that as you're already on a tight budget.

ok guys i am asking boots+back up skis or Better boots... I have been fitted to spk so please help me out with this question and not about going to a boot fitter

If a reputable bootfitter recommended you SPK's just go with a backup pair of park skis and 2010 SPK pro's as the new SPK's dont differ from them fit wise (correct me if im wrong)

Also:

if (A your current boots are fine and your skis are not, go for backups

if (B your current skis are fine and your boots are not, go for boots

if (C both your current boots and skis are shit, go for new boots
