Ulysses? I mean come on, 'good books' is kinda vague. We've had thousands of years' worth of them. What kind of book? If you just want to be entertained, read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In fact, read that anyways.

Cat's Cradle would be a good choice. the chapters are about as short as the book, so it goes by really fast.... it shouldn't take you more than a 6 hour plane ride to finish.

From the desk of Mr. S.S. Jibber

the things they carried - tim o'brien

the confederacy of dunces - john kennedy toole

the secret history - donna tartt

'Le Mat snake village - (Hanoi) - is home to a slew of snake-meat restaruants which play to the tourist market with elaborate theatrics, including killing the snake in front of you. It's then served up in every possible form, from soup to snake-belly shavings. The guest of honour gets to eat the still pumping heart - beware, it's alleged to have amphetamine properties.' - The Rough Guide to Vietnam. First world countries are for pussies.

any kurt vonnegut is really good light reading.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of

arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly

proclaiming...'Wow! What a ride!'

Yes, read Abbey from whoever said that above, also David Sedaris is funny as shit.

yeah what he said, anything by dan brown, especially The Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons. It's a coincidence but my name is Dan Brown too. Funny.

I would recommend 'A Brief History of Time' by Stephen Hawking. Even if you are not interested in the universe, black holes, or time travel, it is really cool reading by one of the smartest men to ever walk the earth. It is written in lamens terms too, at least that is what he believes.

I liked Breakfast of Champions better then Cat's Cradle
