Good Audiobooks?

Any suggestions for some good one? I enjoy listening to them to relax sometimes and would like to get some other options.
 
I would also be interested in this thread for car listening purposes. The only suggestion I can give you, though, is the World War Z audiobook; each chapter is separately voice acted.
 
This might be a lame start, but I loved "To Kill a Mockingbird" on tape. If you haven't read the book, go get it on tape. It's a classic, rightfully so, and hearing it read was just awesome. I don't know whether there are multiple versions (as in, multiple readers).

Another one I really liked was Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods." He's hilarious, and having it read made it even funnier.
 
game of thrones books (a song of fire and ice) would be good to listen to, and they will last a while as the books are long as shit

but what genres are you interested in? if you pick a genre and go to the NYTimes best sellers lists, you'll find something you'll like, i promise

that is most of the good ones on my hd's but i just picked up a bunch of other sci-fi books that i havnt listened to yet so i cant say if they are good.
 
Yeah i gotta say Harry Potter by Stephen Fry (im english) as opposed to Jim dale still blows my shit, listened to them each twice now pretty much.

Ill be sure to check out some of those other ones too, possibly game of thrones.
 
oh man, i've had jim dale read me harry potter almost every night for years. I havnt heard the english version though, is it really that different? I'll have to find it.
 
I personally prefer it but i see stephen fry on tv all the time so i guess that makes me a little bias. I think he just gets more involved with the characters.
 
so i have made it through most of the harry potter read by stephen fry and i cant say i really feel any different about him or jim dale. jim dale does voices and such but i have really liked fry's reading too. and the fact that they are not the americanized versions, its interesting to pick out the differences. i dont know why people complain about his accent, maybe i have just watched too much doctor who and sherlock.
