im 5foot 9 185lbs i ski about 65% park 35% backcountry what skis would be the best and what size. Im looking to keep it below $300 for just the skis.

well it might be sort of hard to have alot of selection under 300, but off the top of my head a goot all around ski would be the k2 extreme, silencer, fujative, last years chronics, or older trouble makers. Have you looked at your local shops for any close out deals?

And by the way since your 185 lbs i would look for a ski that is like a 175-180 cm range. You could always go a little bigger too.

So I know you said you don't want to drop over 300 for skis... however if you change your mind you should look at last years Surface Live Life's. These skis kill it everywhere, pow, trees, crud, even do well in the park. Come in a 179 142/112/132, super bomber ski, its worth looking into.

Autumn garage has them on sale- http://www.autumngarage.com/product_detail.cfm?CatID=3&PID=1150

They are a little more expensive but will be a killer all around ski.

Sorry for the double post but I forgot to mention the watch life from surface as well. This is probably a better ski to look at if your going to be in the park more. I have had the opportunity to ride this skis for two seasons and they kill it. I just got done shredding pillow lines on this years watch life at Snowbird last Friday and then went and hit boxes a few days latter at Brighton. They are def a great all mountain ski can handle almost anything you through at them.

And if you can find a pair of last years watch life's they will be more in your price range.

The K2 fugitive is a really good all around ski. I'v had them the past 2 years and theres nothing wrong with them so far.

Oh and they are very flexible.

Armada ARV's are what i have and i do exactly what you some almost half and half, but im small so i have the 165, otherwise i would get more options...

if your looking for something under 300 then i would go line blends or anthems it should be decent in the powder

unless your gunna go older model then maybe some salmon guns there pretty tight or a ski like the 1080 foil, its not fat be its a park ski with a wide tip wich helps a ton for float in the pow

good lick man

Line Blends, Armada ARVs, K2 Kung Fujas, Rossi S5 or even S6 if you want a little fatter, all great all mountain/park/backcountry skis...
