those are mine treated with dubin, and I'm standing in about 8 inches of water. Add a pair of gaitors and vapor barrier socks and you're ready for anything winter can through at you.

The only winter boot I've owned since a child, commonly used up to -50°C ice fishing on lakes covered in up to 2 foot of soaking wet slush.

I dare anyone to beat that manly shit.

I lied about it being the only winter boot I've ever owned.

Dunlop ice bears. Hands down the BEST csa approved work boot. Fully steel free, rated to minus -50°C, again vapor barrier socks are key, or you can also put plastic bags directly against your feet, then wool socks over top in a pinch. Last winter I was working 60 feet in the air on a aerial work platform(that's a whole different issue, hydraulics don't like to work too well) and it happened to be the coldest place on earth for that particular day coming in at -53°C

right after I got off, the linesman were working on the lift and it froze up solid, stayed like this for about a week until the weather warmed up and we had heaters plowing on the solenoid valves and hydraulic tank

Ice fishing on one if said days near -50 with wind chill, it was only about minus 40 but quite windy that day. Caribou gloves, beaver lined and goose down parka on top of base layers

Anyone know what happened to that brand they guy was promoting on here like a year ago? It was for like water proof skate skate shoes, and it was all "for skiers, by skiers" kind of thing. I wonder if that actually took off. I doubt it though, but I remember them being alright looking.

That was forsake, it did take off, hornbeck and Compton are on them I believe, I love mine and one of the founders is on ns.

I got a pair of the Forsake Hiker's that so far have only seen a skiff of snow. I'm looking forward to seeing how these do over the winter for grip and staying dry. So far they've been my favorite pair of shoes that I've had. I paid $130 CND, which is pretty decent for a waterproof shoe.

I picked up some Salomon Nytro winter boots on a mid-summer sale for $70. I love them, super light, warm and grippy. Great for snowshoeing too.

I've been using my Forsake Hiker's for crashing through the bush in Forestry school so far, but I'll be using these bad boys for winter forest cruising. If in gets extremely icy in town I might rock these too haha. Viking caulk(cork) boots

And the old faithfuls...

Can't really go wrong with these classics. Although my Salomon's are much lighter and have better stability, there's no boot other than these I'd wear while taking a bottle of rum and an axe into the woods for some good old fashion tree chopping fun. It just makes sense

I cam never get pictures to embed on mobile. However the one I got offline worked, maybe I just can't embed instagram pictures

I plan to use my Forsake Hikers as my daily winter slush and snow/ski area parking lot boot, but I have a pair of Kamiks for when it dumps too.

go home, you're drunk!

Thread reminds me I gotta order some. Just ordered me some new snerberd boots. Im def going to get some new regular boots as well. Probably something pretty mellow though.

Put Crampons on some full tilts. you literally can't slip. People may look at you funny then they'll need stitches as they die and you've just combined style with functionality.

I got some nice waterproof work boots today. Grabbed new snowboard boots last week. I think I'm going to grab a set of snow boots though. Been checking out the sorels and some other stuff. Something easy to put on and off that sits high enough for getting out in the snow would be legit. Don't really want to spend over a hundo if possible.

Maybe I'll just pony up and buy a pair of caribous. Heard nothing but good things

Outlet store Sorels dude. I got mine like 6 years ago and they are still comfy as fuck and so warm.

Dammit they're my favorite things to wear in the winter. Skiboot and Sorel life is good shit.
