Golf?

Hey NS,

I was just wondering if anyone on here plays golf. I'm really into it and am practicing indoors, and sometimes out due to the shitty weather of upstate New York. I am a 0.5 handicap, and play out of Oak Hill. I play for my highschool. Does anyone else play?

I go to the driving range sometimes. All I'm good at is cranking the fuck out of the ball with my driver haha.

pfft everyone in Monroe county knows that if you want to go to a true country club, you go to ICC because the conditions are just as good, if not better, as Oak Hill and CCR, and there are much less members, which means more playing time.

4 handicap out of northern new jersey, high school golfer!whats everyones setup? ill post mine if this takes off haha

I work at a course in the summer so I play basically everyday. Its ridiculous the amount of golf balls I find too. If skiing wasn't my #1 sport then golf would be up there its so damn fun.

I used to play a lot when I was in high school but I really want to pick it back up this summer. I had a 12 handicap when I was 15-16 in high school. Our home course is pretty tough with a few par 4's over 425, 2 par 5's over 520 yards with lots of hills, doglegs, etc. Par is 70.

My equipment is old school as fuck, but I love the shit outta it.

Titleist 975D 9.5* driver with a slightly cut stiffer shaft.

Tight Lies 17* Strong 4 Wood

Ping Eye 2 Black Dot Irons, 3-PW

Wilson sand wedge and lob wedge.

Knock off putter.

If I get back into it I'd like to pick up a better sand wedge and putter. My lob wedge was really cheap, but it has great feel. lol

That's quite the claim. A few benefits of not having many members are as follows: 1. Tee times are easier to get. 2. You are able to go to the course just about any day in a week at any reasonable time of the day and are able to golf as soon as you get there. 3. You can play multiple balls and practice on the course.

I could go on if you'd like.

I don't feel like continuing this argument, but as long as there's no one hear to vouch for any other course in the area, let's just shit on all the other 40+ courses, Especially, Monroe Country Club. So what it's built completely on sand? It doesn't have ONE water hazard.

If your a member at Oak Hill you just go out whenever you want. No tee times. Those are just for guests.

If we ever get bored working in the summer lets take a walk to the CA Country Club and play a few holes ;)

Oh and by the way I live on the 7th tee of Oak Hill west so if anyone wants to drop by and play a few holes it'd be cool with me.

I played in HS, my handicap was an 8.5. Low was a 72 on a 71. As soon as I hit college I stopped playing sadly. Hope to get back in to it. Although I did crush the ball with a nice draw. Those were the days.

I love it. I suck, but its super fun. I think I shot something around 120 last time I played an 18. That was around three years ago though and I have gotten MUCH better since then. I have pretty much only gone to the driving range lately, but this summer I'm planning to actually get out on the course more often.

What is pretty awesome is that my phys ed course this year is golf. Not bad.

100% of golf course greens are built on a big ol layer of sand. golf courses have a very strict regiment of watering, fertilizing, mowing, etc to keep the grass as good as it is (most golf course greens are mowed to 3/16" height; pretty incredible the grass can survive).

I played a lot in high school, but not as much anymore.
