i don't think there's anyone there to stop u from building a jump, dont' know why you'd want to turckermans just to build a jump though

im thinkin of goin up this spring. but im not sure how long the snow will hold out. the guys from sas films built a kicker so i dont see why you couldnt.

You know something that would really make me applaud? A guy gets stuck in quicksand, then sinks, then suddenly comes shooting out, riding on water skis. How do they do that?

hey, last year a bunch of us (sas crew) went up to Tuckermans over May 24 weekend (canadian drinking holiday - aka: victoria day or some shit like that) and we built a kicker by the lunch rocks. There are volunteer ski partol up there that will tell you not to do it, but we just did it anyways. whatever you do - don't get hurt if you do build a jump.

I wanna head back up there this year, anyone know a date that a lot of people from here, or anywhere are going up?

read my review eh, I wouldnt recommend building a jump up there because of how high it is and how long it would take to get evacuated if you fucked yourself up; and I mean, c'mon, that is kinda like saying I am going to Alta to build a jump next to the base lodge.

ya, but duncan - last year a bunch of us went up there and we DID build a jump. funnest thing ever. got there early, built the kicker, hiked the bowl a few times, sessioned the kicker doing easy stuff making sure we wouldn't get hurt, entertained the croud (and eventually the ski patol started chearing us on), hiked the bowl a few more times, than started doing some harder stuff off the kicker... we were well aware of the conciquences of injury (like 10 people to get one man down, something like a 6 hour hike out), but we were safe, and everyone had an awsome time up there.

And I've never been to Alta, but it looks like a sick place to build some booters off of cliffs into powder.

has anyone attempted to build a kicker on some of the road accessible areas? I know that for parts of the year you can drive right up to the eastern snowfields etc. That seems like a much safer option for building a kicker, since the car is right there. Does anyone know if there's much terrain in that area that would work?

Im heading up this weekend to check it out, hopefully right gully will be stable enough. and maybe over the headwall... but ill post a nice little report when i get back

Tuckerman's is the best in the east! It has lines that rival the best in the west. Some amazing skiing for sure though the sickest thing I have ever seen there was 6 guys doing the entire headwall, from just below the cliff band, in a small toy rubber raft! They bailed so hard - totally hilarious.

I went the second week in may last year and I think this year I am going april break cause it is going to be an early year. Its so fun. The hike is a doosy and a half but its so worth it. I wouldnt recommend building a jump, but if you really want to, it's all you. Left gully is damn fun. Hillmans is great and underrated. It has a lot more vert than the bowl

yeah, tuckermans is awesome, id like to get back there during april break, but i wonder how much snow there is, since the season has been so sucky around here. it gets A Lot more snow then here from it blowing down into the bowl, so who knows.
