Going to Niseko Japan

Headed over to Niseko, January 7th-17th. Looking for any tips from people who have been there or even possibly live there. Recommendations on where to stay around the resort. Niseko United. Any information is greatly appreciated.
 
I have pretty much the same trip dates! It's my first trip so I really have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm staying in a hostel-style airbnb in Kutchan. It's a little further from the resort but its cheap and they have a shuttle to Grand Hirafu. We should link up!

yoo is this the same airbnb run by the rasta man and his wife? the whole place will smell like kerosene hahaha, i loved that place. youre going to have a blast!!

they dont speak much english at all so talk slow and single words. he will drive you to the resorts everyday. if its a pow day ask if he can drop you off at moiwa.

Damn. How far is that from Niseko United? Thats mostly where I am gonna be riding because I bought the Ikon pass

I paid like $2000-$2,500 ten years ago when I was heading to Chiba for a foreign exchange program. This was a flight from Green Bay to Detroit to Tokyo and back. I'd assume $3,000 is very standard these day. Maybe I'm wrong but sadly I don't think I am.

i paid 880 round trip I believe JFK to tokyo but that was 2007 and JFK to tokyo, two major air hubs not somewhere in the mountains to Niseko
