I'm going to Cuba in January. I'm staying in Varedero at Club Amigo Varedero. Anybody have any tips on what I should do, other than buy rum and cigars.

i think they are just used to it...same as in mexico (montezumas revenge)...also keep an eye out on the ice cubes...

I heard cuba was dope and really beautiful. The people are all super nice, and everythings dirt cheap. A guy i work with went for 2 weeks on 250 bucks and he was living like a king. He got in a car wreck though and said the hospitals were like the 1950s, everyting was glass, no plastic, but he got fixed up good and for free. Its a bummer they just switched from the us dollar. I bet its still a stealy deal. Have fun.

Thats why I booked my trip out to whistler in March. I figure a week in Cuba won't hurt my ski season too bad

you can go to cuba as long as you get issued a visa. Montezumas revenge works both ways man, we get sick when we go to their country and they get sick in our country, it has to do with the standard of food and water. its weird but explainable

I lived in the Dominican Republic (its right next door) for a year and its very similar to Cuba. Trust me, its a poor country. You are probably going to stick to the tourist areas though so you probably wont see the super slummish areas. Also, locals never grow immune to the crap in the water and stuff, they just have never known anything else. I just bought big old 5 gallon jugs of water every couple of days, but like I said, you will be in the rich tourist areas where it will be a ton safer so I wouldnt worry about it. I completely agree with the person who said that the girls just see you as a walking visa, cause thats all you are to them.
