Going to Colorado....

So I'm from Ontario and I'll be driving down to Denver, Colorado with my dad to pick up a seadoo, and I'm just wondering if there going to be any mountains open near Denver still then, or if there are water ramps or something nearby. +K for help.

Woodward at Copper. Also, I'm hearing A bay will be open..indefinitely. Their snow pack is incredible...and, it's gorgeous. I have the absurd sunburn to prove it.

What about water ramps? I really want to try them those out, and also this is mostly just a drive there, stay a few hours and then drive back kind of thing, so I would like to hit up some water ramps if possible.

Oh and isn't there like a training course thing you have to do before you can ride at woodward? I only have like less than a day of skiing to do so I don't want to waste time you know?

Google tells me there are water ramps near steamboat, but I can't find any info for them, any locals know whats up?

steamboat has water ramps but that is a 3+ hour drive from denver. Plus u need to be in a club there or know someone to hit those last time i hit them which was 6 years ago. GO to Arapahoe basin. there should be jumps and rails, and pond skimming. There aren't any water ramps in denver. A basin is a hour and a half from denver. Enjoy

Woodward is closed until June 3rd and Steamboat ramps are pretty far for a day trip, plus its still going to be really cold up there.

A bay is only an hour from denver

Alright thanks for the info guys, and were actually going to Fay Myers now not Denver, so only like an hour drive to abasin according to google maps.

Okay I got one more question, its says on the abasin website that there is a rail jam on the saturday of may long weekend, does this mean that the park will be closed or anything like that?

If you have backcountry gear, hit up berthoud pass. thats where im going tomorrow. but stay below treeline

No kidding. You'd end up spending enough on gas to make it cheaper to buy a more expensive jetski in Ontario. I doubt it's a sale though.

Yeah the park at abasin will be closed till 2ish prob but the mini park is open....is so sick up there right now went on weds

So how is abasin out of the park? Will there be lots of runs open still? I'm getting stoked, Ive never skied anywhere other than Ontario and Minnesota so I'm pumping to finally go west.

My dad always makes big purchases in the states, quite a bit easier to find something cheap if your willing to drive that far. It really isn't all that long of a drive, if we take turns driving/sleeping well get there in good time.

Their website says the lifts run from 9-3:30, isn't that kind of a short day? My home hill is even open later than that.

Yeah, still not totally sure if the trip is a go yet though, my dad only has a few days off work so it'll be pushing it to squeeze in a day of skiing.

Abay is open until June. Loveland is only a 1/1.5hr drive from Denver, open til May 8th. Unless you are totally stoked on park Abay isn't that great from what I saw, few good rails but the jumps are pretty small. However the skiing outside the park is amazing right now. Aaaand the Steamboat ramps are situated on a lake, so no go on that until mid June or something http://www.sswsc.org/
