Going to Breck, help needed.

So I am planning to go to Breck this winter, but I am unable to go when all my friends are planning to go in January, so I have to figure out all this shit by myself. I am trying to convince some of my dudes that going in March is one hell of an idea, but so far I have had bad luck with that shit.

I dont want to go alone, but I dont want to not go, but before I decide anything I need to plan everything, flight, dates, hotels, liftpasses, all that stuff to see what the cost of it all will be and stuff like that.

I want to go during March, like the whole month of March. Where can i find a nice place to stay without being financially ruined? I have looked at some hostels, and I think that might be the best idea for me, but a month in a hostel also sounds challenging alone. Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

I also dont know shit about lift passes in Murica. What lift pass should i buy, the epic local pass? How does the restrictions on the Summit Value pass work? Should I order as soon as I figure out whether or not to go?

I could probably find out everything I need by spending hours on google and researching a little better, but I would rather hear what you guys have to say.

Any advice or help is, as said, both needed and much appreciated.

Thank u newschoolers.

Okay. So first off, buy the Summit Value Pass. It is unrestricted at Breck in the month of March, so you would have unlimited access to Keystone, A-Basin, and Breck during March. I would order it sooner rather than later, but I'm not sure if they actually will raise prices any more at this point. Drop in on Snow.com for some more info:http://www.snow.com/epic-pass/passes.aspx

As for your lodging, I'm not sure I can help you very much. My family owns a condo in Keystone so thats my go-to, but I would guess you might be able to find something on VRBO or maybe shop craigslist in Silverthorne/Frisco area? How do you plan on commuting to the mountain?

Oh and as for convincing your friends, skiing in March in Colorado can be sick (I've skied Keystone pretty much every weekend of my life for the past 12 years or so). I feel like the majority of my rad powder days have been in March. And if its not dumping snow, the temperature is a bit more bearable and the parks are always pristine at Breck.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

March at Breck is waaaaay better than January. Fewer crowds and generally more snow to play with. Definitely get the summit value pass like the guy above said.

March is extremely busy, did you mean fewer crowds in January? March is freaking insane ,everyday is like a saturday. The entire American Nation is on spring break. If anything he should come in April or late march into april. January can be hit or miss with snow, and has less crowds for sure.

February is a Solid month to go. See if your friends going would be willing to go one month later.

Shoot, yeah I forgot about the spring break crowd. Every single week a different part of the country is on spring break and tons of them flock to Breck. My brain must have stroked off while I was typing that. Yeah, after the 1st week of January the crowds die down a lot.

Either way, get your pass before they stop selling them on the 22nd. Breck was at $139/day last year and that's probably going to go up again

I go to Breck every year for spring break, and its insane. Luckily they pump money into their lift system so you don't have to wait in lines too long, but definitely avoid the base chairs mid day, shits nuts. Even though theres tons of people its a super fun time meeting new people and somethings always going on once the lifts shut down. Don't know if you're looking to slam park all day or what but if you want the shortest lift lines and best terrain to just rip head for the higher chairs like imperial and 6 chair. As far as lodging I have usually crashed at a homies place, but i did stay in the lodge once and wouldn't recommend it for a budget, super nice but pricey as hell. Look for hotels outside of town or check the web for a solid couch surfing spot. If you can't convince your friends its still a great time solo, and you can meet people willing to shred with you rather easily. good luck man!

Haha, I made a thread and forgot all about it! Thanks for all the responds guys, I have maybe figured out something, so I'll see you guys in March hopefully!

Peace
