dont spin onto the rail as much i always tried to spin the 90 really fast when I was going switch if you spin 90 to fast you fall of the rail

well wnen your going fakie it generally seems like your going faster then you actually are, so try to get a little more speed then your comfortable with, or more then you normally do and jsut line up the rail, once you start landing on the rail you ewont get to the end the first time but you will at least have it lined up, it takes a bit of practice, just get lined up and pop a nice 90 and land square on the rail, when i learnt to do them i had to look over both shoulders to get positioned right to hit the rail square on.....

going switch on was always a problem with me, i could never do it, but now i'm a lot more confident with riding switch, and going switch on is so much fun

i know what you mean. It feels different the first couple of times, but you'll get used to it. Listen 2 the other guys above me, all of that is true.

i never attemped but it always looked rally tech to me. seems that thier is alot of 'poppin' involved. as in poppin of the lip

Jesus Christ, nice shot!

not much more poping then going on regualr, mind you depends on the size of the gap and the size of the rail compared to the lip.....

it seems like you need to pop a lot more than going on regular, but it's just you're so used to goin on regular it's like second nature i guess, it just takes some getting used to, and like any other trick, a lot of it is commitment

another major thing to try to do to help, it lean a little forward, cause for me, when i ride switch i lean forward(uphill), so when i first hit the rail i was real backseat....so keep that in mind

after my first couple tries i got better. i ended up trying 53(yes 53 times) before i stuck it

i was freaked out too at first but its easier to go fakie onto a box sideways so that you can get used to the motion. i did that and fell a bunch but now i can go onto rails and boxes fakie. starting it on boxes helps because you have more landing space after the pop.

when i was first learning i would always land on the rail with my tips so i adjusted my self....now when i come up a lip goin switch i am a little bit to the right of the rail and i land perfect every time...try something like that if it helps.

whoever said going faster helps... that wasnt so for me... i tried like 4 times onto a tiny little like 6 incher and then got it pretty clean onto a bigger one, but not going fast at all and it seemed pretty easy... i dont know, i suck at rails.

commitment is the main thing. if your not commited, then you wont stick it. You dont need to spin as much as it feels like you do either. its still only 90 degrees. it just feels like more cuz yer in a funky position

I dfound that getting speed enough is important and also, make sure you dont spin early or pop early.

ok, so what direction do most of you spin and grind when you're going up switch? I was tryin switch grinds today on a box and i found it easiest to spin my natural way (counterclockwise) but then i grind unnatural(left foot foreward). what's everyone else do or recommend?

i just spun unnatural... and going slow helped... just stay compact and dont flail. also i find that getting a little lead change going in your stance helps, looking over the shoulder over the leading ski.

I learned this the other day on a really small rail. This helps at first cause you dont have the consequences you have on a higher rail.. I would ski down the inrun, jump 180 to switch and then watch the rail as I got air off the jump.. Then i turned the skis and slid! The problem's occur when you go off the jump not balanced (i.e. leaning too far back/front).. But if you can launch it switch and stay balanced, this isnt a very hard trick to pull.

i learned on a fun box.....took me a few tries before i greased it, then dislocated my shoulder the next day on the first try.....then as soon as it popped back into place (about a minute later) i owned that bitch because rails don't win

i just learned to slide unatural over the summer, and got comfortable rding switch. i switched on for the first time this weekend. it took me one try to lose the fear. and then the next time i commited and it was just like sliding regular.
